Whenever someone is on a platform above olimar, I have found it extremely effective to approach with a nair. I always see olimars going for the dash canceled usmash but the hitbox is small and quick enough to be easily air-dodged, sheilded, or rolled around. The prolonged hit frames and wider hitbox of his nair, coupled with its DI-ability make it really versitile from below. Plus it is easy to combo another nair, upb, uair, fair/bair depending on how they DI. Try it out and let me know what you think.

I pretty much always short hop uair but i use nair a lot when I'm falling into someone that is shielding for whatever reason (see my topic here about a failed combo) and I honestly think it's the best use for nair. that and when somebody is on you like a ***** (MK, luigi, here's to you) and you just get out with a nair through one of their moves with less priority. it's a pretty cool move but I wouldn't make it into an approach. you'd look like voldo from soul calibur spinning like a top at your opponent

Agreed, falling nair to usmash works wonders. My major problem with it is priority (snakes utilt or any disjointed hitbox destroy it). Obviously uair is preferable to nair but try it out. For me at least it almost always lands beacuase its wider and more DIable than the uair. Also nair becomes a great option against defensive players who prefer dodging and sheilding to attacking. At least consider adding it to your arsenal to vary your playstyle and add to mindgames a bit.

dair is better, surprisingly long lasting hit box. sh dair and DI behind them, it autocancels and you go to up smash.
it beats most spot dodges due to long lasting hit box.
also, the ending part does little to no knockback setting up perfect for another attack. works best with reds

nair is amazing for keeping combo's going. falling nair leads to everything in oli's arsenal
