Let me speak about this weekend. Beyond anything it was the greatest tournament I have ever ran. I had a great time and everyone I met was just amazing. Words cannot describe the way I felt. I feel almost saddened that the event ended. Anyways, on to shoutouts first.
The community : We did it guys! We made a tournament that compares to EVO on the high level, the tournament atmosphere, and the international presences.
BardulL : Nice meeting you man. I loved just hanging out with you and having a great time.
The Japanese : you guys are really a trip. I loved hanging out and meeting all of you.
Lord Chair : Man it was awesome to chill with you, Nick and Jim. I was enjoying when you were cursing it was soooo funny.
Nike Nick : SOOOOOOOO TALLLLLLL
Fused King : Sunglasses at night
Plank : Thanks for helping run the tournament dude
Alukard : Good **** ^_^ maybe i'll see you at ROM3
Chibo : You did a great job helping me. Without you DM and others helping IDK what would of happened.
VG Bootcamp : YAY WE DID IT
Praxis : Dude we had so much fun
Chu and his car : LOLZ at all the people in the room.
G$ : DESTRUCTION...you keep bumping into me dog lol.
Dapuffster : FURRY!!!!!!!
DEHF : OMG you won ^_^
Commentators : Great job
NYERS : Good ****
Diem - LOLZ at some of the things you said
Everyone I missed - <3 you all ^_^
To those that missed it : See you guys next year
Ok normally I would not say anything like this but I felt that this site really dropped the ball on promoting this tournament. Thanks to me and many others we made this happen but this site should be a hub for tournaments and all things Brawl related yet I find it to be the contrary. It should always be equal treatment of all events but I felt this was pushed WAY down for Supercon. I will not bash that event but clearly the hype for that is nothing compared to what Apex was. It is really sad to know that there is such bais by so-called "leaders". I think this is the point where I question if certain people care about the community or just promoting themselves. There was a lot of stuff said over PM that I am debating releasing to the public. Out of respect I will keep the names out of it but I will clearly say that Apex 2011 will be much bigger and I will be sad if all I see out of that is a small article.
To recap what happened to apex on aib
- removed off of featured tournaments
- nothing mentioned until Sat about apex article wise ( Thanks Rich )
- blogs and such were pushed down before the event.
I am hoping I can be contacted through IM for this to be resolved. This is something that clearly has ruined my belief in this site being a hub for smash and more to stroke egos of people that do not care for the community and would rather make money. Do I endorse making money? Yes. Do I endorse it at the expense of others ? Never.
You deserve a lot more than me talking about this nicely and for me to hold back is because I am a better person than you. Step up and apologize for missing out on this event AIB staff and let it be over with.
