You might want to check into tournaments nearby Bohemos. You'll have a lot more people to play, and it wouldn't be THAT expensive. You don't have to enter the tournament, just pay the venue fee (that is, the fee to enter the building). Then do hundred friendlies.

your best bet for smash would be to come to San Jose. There's a bay area practice thread somewhere here and posting in that thread will get more people to notice you
