Another Quick Question

Is there any way to obtain Mew in Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Emerald, Firered, Leafgreen ,Ruby, or Sapphire without the use of a cheating device (such an AR or GS)?

I do believe the only way was through an event for Emerald, but I could be wrong.

Event is the ONLY way to obtain Mew thus far...

Well.. there was the toysrus event to get mew and those Japan events as well. There was also the old sea chart thing.. but I think that was only available in Japan, besides just hacking out the map. So.. basically its only events in order to get mew right now, I'm pretty sure.
