Another cool way to improve air combat-

What if you could jump after you do your up-b attack from the ground. In melee, you could jump then use your up-b, but not the other way around.

In brawl i think you should be able to jump after you use your up-b if you havent jumped before. In other words, only if you did your up-b from the ground.

Perhaps you could do a jump-up b-jump combo.

What do you think?

Hmmm what probably would enable jump canceling on up b moves.

Bowser jump canceling a fortress into a Uair anyone?

In fact, Bowser being abe to cancel the fortres at all would make him high if not top tier.

It's not going to happen. The original format of using your Up-B as a last resort is fine. That's why you should use it wisely.

I wouldn't mind if like, say...

You're Marth. You ground up B. you free fall (normal) now if you get hit, you don't have your double jump cause you used up B. I wish THAT were changed...

It could be a cool thing to be implimented but i don't think it'll happen. Up-B is really only supposed to be used as a recovery attack and what about those who don't leave the ground when using it, like Link?

yeah for link it would be a different story.. still though, I think that up-B is only used for recovery and last resort attacks (because of the delay after preforming one). Changing this by enabling a jump after the attack could greatly change the intention (and usage) of the up-B move. Not sure if that's what they want.

This is a genius idea. But then there's the question of Jump-Cancelling the UpB, like other people mentioned. If you have to wait until the UpB animation ends to jump, I think the idea is terrible, but if you can Jump Cancel it anytime during the move, this idea could become another advanced tech imo.

Bump!
marths up b fair fair DAIR ken combo FTW
broKEN
Yeh that's true. Alot of characters recovery moves give them gross lag after, and this technique would exterminate lag for every single characters recovery. So now, instead of having a character balance by giving good characters a lag recovery (Fox, Falco, Sheik, Marth, etc) , now the balance is even more destroyed than before. Prepare to get *****.

Terrible idea. The whole point of the Up B recovery is that you are helpless after you do it, its your final attempt to save yourself.

If you could use a double out of an up B then that would make the edge game ******** and what you're suggesting is just too abusable.

If they somehow made it balanced.
Say Up B -> Jump -> Double Jump -> Fall

But whats to stop people from using Up B ALL the time as a jump. Your standing on a top platform like on the DK stage. Keep spamming up B.

I mean its an alright idea, but like others have said. You usually time your double jumps well than us Up B as your last resort because it leaves you defenseless afterward. Its good as is.

And one trailer has Fox using FireFox than falling right? Not in the game now, not gonna happen.
