Animal Crossing character confirmed?

I wouldn't say so. That trophy was for his nephews, he was just there. Also, the whole AC Stage thing would have to include the Animal Crossing Guy since he/she's been in the background a whole lot more.

Here why I believe there will not be an Animal Crossing character:

Because there is already an Animal Crossing stage. Usually characters and their stages are grouped together (Olimar's stage wasn't announced until AFTER he was.) Sakurai probably threw the Animal Crossing stage at us, not really thinking twice about it because there is NOT an AC character.

because if he were, sakurai would have protected him and not revealed him as a sticker...

yes? yes. unfortunate as i like animal crossing and that character could definitely work (axe, shovel, furniture, slingshot, umbrella, items, fishing pole grab/tether, etc.)

The most interesting thing about seeing him as a sticker, I think, was that he was being used on Kirby's trophy base. While there isn't any concrete evidence to support this, I'd say it's logical to think that, if any sticker was going to be exclusive to an AC representative, it would be the Animal Crosser himself. This leads me to believe that, since he was on Kirby's trophy base, there is no AC rep, and the Katrina sticker is perhaps unique to characters with magical attacks, such as Zelda. That's just my opinion, however.
