Hello all! The name is Mike & after a lot of browsing around I've decided to join the forums here!

I've been playing Smash for a few years now. I have gotten all the Smash Games with the exception of 64 & Wii U on launch. Played Brawl a lot the first few years then took a break. Got into Smash 3DS also but took a long break until I started seeing a lot about pro players on twitch and YT. Now I've been practicing daily with Sonic, Mewtwo, & Little Mac... But enough of all that and this long post. Excited to be here!

My question for anyone on the forum is about the Wii U version as I only have the 3DS version and my 3DS is........ Having difficulties due to its age (6 years old now)
I have a Wii U but the gamepad is busted. I'd rather not buy a whole new Wii U for this game. Is it possible to play Smash Wii U WITHOUT the game pad. I know it doesn't need to be a controller option but Idk if the game will launch without it. Thanks once again for the help!

as far as I know yeah, smash isn't a game that ever requires a gamepad except for amibos, so i'd just say start it up and it should work

Great!
I didn't think it needed the pad but I know the console itself is pretty dependant on that pad I didn't want to risk it. Thanks
