Amiibo Wave 3 - Speculation

What characters do you think are gonna be turned into an amiibo toy for wave 3, and what games do you think they'd be compatible for? I'm personally hoping for Ike or Robin that will be compatible with the upcoming "Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei" crossover!

I'm really hoping the 3rd Parties get Amiibos eventually. I'm not that much into the Amiibos, but I'd want to buy a Sonic one as soon as possible.

I know that might be a little more complicated because not only is that going into the licensing limits that putting 3rd Parties in Smash already have sometimes just with the addition of merchandising right complications. But it's the one condition where I would be more then happy to pick up an Amiibo.

Probably wouldn't be compatible with much else though.

It's pretty safe to say that Charizard, Ness, and Ike will all be getting Amiibo's seeing as we saw them in action during the Direct.

I think we could get Toon Link, Pikmin & Olimar, Shiek, Zero Suit Samus, and Meta Knight too. Toon Link and Shiek could work with Hyrule Warriors and Toon Link maybe with Wind Waker HD if the developers feel like going back to add stuff there. Pikmin 3 could work with Olimar too.

Personally I'm expecting the hidden characters to be the last wave of Smash ones(aside from maybe 3rd parties, but we'll see what happens with that).

Charizard and Bowser seem like safe bets to me personally though.

I wonder how a Mr. Game & Watch amiibo would work. He is pretty flat, after all.

I honestly think it will be:

For Wave 3, February 10, 2015 (Tuesday before Valentine's Day)

For Wave 4, March 17, 2015 (St. Patrick's Day)

For Wave 5, May 26, 2015 (Tuesday after Memorial Day)

For Wave 6, September 1, 2015 ( Tuesday before Labor Day)

For Wave 7, November 3, 2015 ( Election Day)

Wave 8 will have Mewtwo and the other DLC characters in 2016.

What is this fallacy that secret characters are somehow less popular/a demotion from starting roster/ would not be available for amiibo?

A number of the secret characters are in BECAUSE of popularity. You best be sure that if WFT gets an amiibo, which we know she is, japan's beloved Dark Pit is going to get one.

Lucario, Rosalina, Bowser, Toon Link, Shiek, Ike, Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Shulk all confirmed for Amiibos.

But best of all is Sonic and Megaman are too! 3rd Party Character Amiibos are coming after all ^^

Now I don't care about really collecting them all. But I am going to want to have that Sonic one ASAP.

Shulk amiibo will be exclusive to GameStop, and possibly EB Games in Canada.

I personally have boycotted those retailers as they've stiffed me multiple times on pre-order bonuses.
