Am I the only one that's been meh with these Newcomer updates?

Really. All of the ones that have been unveiled were pretty much likely to begin with. Therefore, there's not much surprise regarding their confirmation. Come to think of it, I've only been excited about Lucas and Ike because I'm a MOTHER fan and Ike was a hit from nowhere.


Now, we really need more exciting Newcomer unveilments like Sukapon, Lip, Tom Nook, Kumatora, Claus, Geno, and Ridley.

For the heck of it, I just want vet profiles now. Ness has become a nightmare.

I was honestly surprised with Sonic and Snake. I mean, we heard it about Sonic all last game and he didn't show so I figured it would be the same for Brawl all over again. I can honestly saw I'm glad I was wrong.

Outside of Sonic and Snake, I had good vibes for King Dedede, Pit, MetaKnight and Wario because of the support they got for Melee. But the Pokemon Trainer, Diddy Kong, Ike, Sonic, Snake and Lucas were all surprising to me.

The only big surprises for me were Ike and Pokémon Trainer, while the rest... I expected them.

No, he said most likely ALL character would get releashed

Because he wanted to do it personally and not leaked around the internet

He said he'd eventually announce everyone, but whether or not these announcements complete by Judgement Day (January 24th) is unknown.

We'll get them soon enough, but whatever the case is, all of the newcomers so far (including the ones from the original trailer) are all awesome and great additions. I'm happy with any newcomer Sakurai puts in the game, really.

It's still nice to see their updated Brawl character models, and screenshots showing glimpses of their movesets. And it removes what miniscule doubts anyone has, I guess.

while I was pleasantly shocked with pokemon trainer, the only remaining characters to make me go REALLY flip out in happiness would be takamaru, megaman. so we really all have different tastes on newcomer updates. theres no way to please us all. although we seriously need more individual/unique franchise reps that weren't already repped in melee.

well it's going to be different for everyone, people who are big on kirby were probably stoked to see dedede today, just like you were when lucas got confirmed. however i would like more unexpected characters to show up.

I am quyite the opposite. Every newcomer yet released has made m,y jaw drop. Yes, I expected Diddy Kong and King Dedede. But they were awesome updates still. I knew Sonic would be in Brawl but I was dumbfounderd for a good 3 mins before I snapped back to reality when his update appeared.

I even get exicted about the Veterans because of the new model updates.

I can't believe anyone isn't happy with Dedede, he's one of my favorite characters ever. Then again I'm probably older than some players and experienced the various ages of Kirby so it's sort of like a warm, classic feeling. Maybe not a big surprise yet he's just... right for this game. A lot of people on the boards seem to be all about obscure characters but I think the average people who pick it up will love using Dedede.

Not to say I don't love a good surprise but I was very "meh" on the Pokemon Trainer (I hate Pokemon though). Ike was whatever too, so I guess it really is just a personal thing.

Could you please tell me how Ridley is exciting to you? He seems pretty likely to me; so I don't really understand how Ridley would be that surprising to you if he was confirmed.

i am very pleased with every character update so far...although your idea of "exciting newcomers" is nothing like mine, i couldnt agree more with ridley. King dedede was my 3rd most anticipated newcomer...and 2 of them have et to be announced( Ridley and Wolf.) And I really dont see how you can "meh" Mehtaknight...er sorry, metaknight.

Ridley is awesome. I personally think he's in but he has the whole debate around him and every now and then I get the fear he'll be a boss.

I agree completely, it was just a total uplifting feeling to actually see him in action so that I know I'll get to use him. As for Ridley being just a boss? Come on now. He didn't let down the old schoolers (Pit), the Mother 3 people, the Sonic people... and after being teased so horribly in the Melee intro I'm 100% positive Ridley is playable.

However, as I was on the edge of my seat for this Dedede update, I'll understand how Ridley fans are nervous till they see his sinister face. :D Just be patient.

I like king dedede alot and i thought that if they brought him to brawl he wouldnt look so fluffy. I will still propbibly play as him though. i will play as all of them. i love the new characters and levels they are so cool. i think that they should add bomberman cuz i have been playing my snes lately and omg they r so fun.

None of those characters are really that exciting... Ridley's one of those supposed "shoe-in" characters, Geno has a great chance as well (though not "shoe-in".), Sukapon... Meh. Tom Nook's DECONFIRMED. Kumatora and Claus, I don't have much to say on them as I've never played a Mother game before.

I just hope Ness is returning.

The only playable character that would surprise me at this point is Isaac. I really want, no, need him in this game!

FYI, I just want to point out some things

Sukapon = if he's in, he wont be revealed until you unlocked everything. Meaning that he would be the last unlockable

Lip = revealed in a surpsing way in unlocking. Resulting in not being shown until a litle after the game's release. maybe a week or so

Claus=.......you know that he aint going to show him until you play Ness & lucas Subspace mode & requirements to allow him to reveal himself

Kuma= if she's in then I guess she'll be revealed early like Krystal

Geno = *see lip*

Ridely = *see claus but think Samus*

Tom nook=.....wait, I thought he was decomfirmed with his old original outfit too >.>

See what I mean? Try to think like Sakurai than trying to be like him. It's much more effective that way

I must say, I'm usually pretty psyched whenever we get a Newcomer update. If anything, I'd complain about the long span of time between new characters being announced. It'd be sweet if Sakurai could do an every 3rd day thing...or even a weekly thing. I know that'd be a buttload of work, but just seeing 4 snapshots and an announcement of the character would be enough to keep me going.

Really, the only one that really dropped my jaw was Sonic. I knew he had a strong chance to get in, but it was really his presenation on how he was shown on the homepage is what really dropped my jaw.

Unlike most people, I'm not giddy about Pokemon Trainer. Although he's unique, it was a letdown once I saw that he had 3 different levels of starters... Charizard was cool, but it was sad to see that we didn't also get control of Venusaur and Blastoise too. I also didn't like Rock Smash, and didn't like PT's bad rendering, even though he won't be in the fray much of the time. It's apparent if you compare the quality of rendering from PT to Ike.

No brainer additions: Diddy, MetaKnight, Dedede, Wario, Ike, and Sonic.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Pit, ZSS, PT, Lucas, and Snake, but I wasn't overjoyed.

What I'd really like now is a release of Captain Falcon, and the confirmation that his Final Smash will be the universe-tearing Falcon Punch used against Black Shadow in the anime.

Why do people think he will be the ultimate unlockable in Brawl? He's hardly relevant to Nintendo's history, he's a Japan only character, he is NOT a G&W type of character, he'll be lucky if he just gets a spot.

And I thought I was alone. I look at the character list right now, it's not getting me as excited as I hoped it would. Maybe it's because I see a lot of people having their dreams come true for them like Sonic or Dedede, whereas none of mine have yet to be confirmed. In fact, I've been shafted twice, and in the same franchise!

It weird though not being so excited when I look at the list. I need my young link (MOST preferably WW style), and I'll be content for the rest of my life. Everyone got their dreams, where's mine? Maybe I should appeal to the "Make a Wish" Foundation, see if they can help with anything.
