I know a lot of people are really hoping for Master Chief to be one of the remaining DLC characters. I personally do not have a strong opinion either way, beyond "oh that'd be cool."
But one thing is for sure: no matter what, I absolutely hope to goodness that The Arbiter does not make it in. That would be ****ing terrible, a travesty, and an insult to the fanbase.
Why you ask?
Because he is a sword user. Throughout Halo, the Arbiter consistently uses a sword, and it is the primary weapon he identifies with in marketing and such.
And as we all know, Smash has enough sword users. In the recent DLC release, we just got another, technically four, sword users added to the pile. I think enough is enough. We don't need the Arbiter increasing a generic trend.
Ganondorf is already ruined since they made him a sword user in Smash Ultimate.
Nintendo, give us Master Chief. Fans, hope for Master Chief. But I swear to goodness if we get the Arbiter, another sword user, I'm going to quit Smash and boycott any future products Sakurai is associated.

As a Halo fan I love you for wanting Master Chief and completely disagree with your stance on Arbiter. I think that the Arbiter could have one or two moves that use the Energy Sword variants (Vorpal Talon, Prophet's Bane, etc.) without adding to the trend of sword wielders. The rest of his moves could rvolve around using Covenant/Swords of Sanghelios weapons including plasma grenades, plasma casters, needlers, fuel rod canons, etc.

But in all honesty I can't imagine them adding Arbiter before master Chief. That would be crazy.

Who or what is "the Arbiter?" Whatever it is, it's not the face of Halo. There is zero chance of it being in Smash and not Master Chief. There is as much a chance of this as Mario not being in Mario Kart, but Luigi being included. None whatsoever. Your Undertale rep will not be Undyne. Learn how business works, kids.

Allow me to enlighten you.

In the Halo franchise, humans are fighting for their existence against an alliance of aliens known as the Covenant The Arbiter is a member of the Covenant who failed a mission to eliminate a human starship, the Pillar of Autumn, and secure one of the Halo rings (giant ring worlds). For his failure he was sentenced to torture and became the Arbiter, a soldier who would lead covenant troops on zelaus missions and ultimately die doing so. However, during the story of Halo 2, the Prophets (the leaders of the Covenant) said that all members of the Arbiter's species were heretics and turned against them. This caused the Arbiter and the rest of his kind to leave the Coventant and ally themselves with the Humans.

Arbiter is playable in Halo 2 and Halo 3 and makes appearances in Halo 5 and a cameo in Halo 2 anniversary. If Master Chief ever gets in I don't see a reason why Arbiter shouldn't.

For the same reason the majority of other third parties only have one rep. Assuming Chief will get his own Richter/Ken is presumptuous.

I don't think we have to worry about the Arbiter getting in without Master Chief. That would be like if Nintendo was allowed one Final Fantasy character and chose Zidane or one Street Fighter character and they picked Blanka.

I never said he would be in the game, I said I didn't se a reason why he shouldn't be in the game. You're twisting my words.

From your opening post this seems like a rant thread on Sword Users. Rant Threads aren't something we allow so it'll now be closed.
