I was under the impression that a Ken Combo was using multiple SHFFL'd f-airs and Nairs to get them off the edge into a D-air spike

I was under the impression that a Ken combo was a combo made up by ken. But ken combo is fair-->dair. Any way to set it up before the fair doesn't matter.

IMO, a true Ken Combo is FAir -> DAir. I labeled this the Alternate Ken Combo because it's a different way of leading into a DAir spike with an attack from the air. If only multiple FAirs -> DAir can be considered a Ken Combo, then what about BAir -> DAir? I call that one the Reverse Ken Combo.

lol, ken combos? ken combos aren't as good if you're not ken LOLOL. but yeah that is a nice combo and it does work. on sheik and some other characters, you can jump out and use side b, and double jump dair.

the REAL ken uses AMAZING improvised combos... on youtube, there's a video called "ken combo compilation" which is absolutely beastly. that pokemon stadium combo on neo... omg.... omg~~~~~. it's like freaking 8 hits.

edit: http://youtube.com/watch?v=bCuAMS3JWjw added video for extra reference. these ken combos are the real deal :) the combo i mentioned starts at 1:24 against neo's sheik. all i can say is d*mn.

The only thing I can say about the above video: wow.

This combo is not as effective as the ken combo. Ken combo uses fair to stun, but with your combo after the side B they can fast fall or attack to prevent the dair. Also, Ken combo is MUCH easier to set up because the fair hits them a little upwards, so you can jump into the dair. Your combo doesn't reposition them. Another thing, Fair has more range than the first hit of sword dance, so it's easier to get off.

I thought that the side B could stun your opponent as well.

Actually, about that part, i'm not exactly sure. It does stun, but I think it doesn't stun them long enough, meaning they can fast fall or attack to prevent the dair. All the other parts i'm positive about though. this is not nearly as good as the Ken combo, but i guess it is an alternate ken combo...

No offense to Ken or anyone, but I think its pretty lame that you refer to a combo / move as somebody's move period.

you're comboing to a down spike. Just by sure probability, somebody probably did it before him and probably figured it out without him :)

It's called the ken combo because he made it famous.

The same argument could be made in respect to wobbling with the ice climbers. Sure it was around before wobbles, and some people had known about it, but wobbles was the first one to put that move to success in tournaments, thus the ICs infinite grab is called wobbling.

I use this combo on my roommate's fox all the time when he misses a shine spike when I'm recovering. I've only gotten it to work successfully on fox and falco though.
