Alloy Team Mystery Numbers?

I see a tree...
So, I made a thread about this on GameFAQs, and everyone just seems to insist upon Sakurai being lazy and leaving them out... You'll see what I mean:

From my Topic on GameFAQs:

Anyways, take a look at these pictures of the Alloy Team:

http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/various/images/various21/various21_080108f.jpg

and

http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/various/images/various21/various21_080108g.jpg

As you can see, the numbers in the damage meters DO NOT HAVE percent signs next to them.

What does this mean?

It can't be HP, because some of the Alloys are STILL moving when their numbers are at 0.

Also, it CAN'T be how many are left. If you look at the first picture, the number in the top left gives a total of 89 Alloys left. The numbers in the "damage meters" are 16, 30 and 37, which only add up to 83.

So, what the heck do these numbers mean?!

Also, No! It CAN'T be laziness on Sakurai's side. What exactly would prevent Sakurai from LEAVING OFF PERCENT SIGNS? As far as we know, the highest percentage of damage is 999%... And even with that 999% damage, the percent sign is still there. So why is it any different now?...

Look here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eivb8JnevXQ

Also, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umJh5Y6JJ2Y

The percent sign still exists after 999. Those numbers have MEANING. They aren't there because Sakurai decided to leave something out....

So, does anyone have any ideas as to what these numbers could mean? Levels? Something totally different?... I just find it VERY hard to believe that Sakurai would leave something out as crucial as this without even mentioning it in the new update. There's SOMETHING to those numbers, otherwise, Sakurai would have said he left the percent signs out for space...

I'm guessing the number of them you've killed.
That's what I thought as well, but that can't be right either.

The first picture is talking about the 100 Man Brawl. 16, 30 and 37 do not add up to 89, but 83 + 89 is not 100.

What I'm saying is, if you're in the 100 Man Brawl, and you defeat 83 Alloy Team members, but you have 89 left to fight... how does that work out?...

yeah, and it could be part of the beta, you never know.
I dunno... Again, I find it hard to believe that Sakurai would be using Beta screenshots when the game is just around the corner for release in Japan... But, even still, why would he be lazy and just leave the percent signs off?

Don't they make the updates weeks in advance? (as in, still beta?) Also, it's not # killed, there are two green alloys in one of the screenshots.

I have to tell you that I really don't give a flying douche!Sorry just way too excited to be caring about percent signs right now

Even if it is some other form of damage, what is the difference?
What are you worried you can't beat them?

Right now the only thing that is mysterious to me is the Red alloys resemblence to Capt. Falcon
(Sorry to get off topic)

I agree with whoever said that it's just so the icons don't get too crammed. I mean, any smash player knows that the numbers there are the percentage, unless you're playing stamina mode.

Personally, i think you're looking into it too much.

jay~b: How kind of you... ><

Maybe I am looking into it too much, but Sakurai likes to play with people's heads. Maybe I'm just a victim of it... But, I'm just saying that something about it seems odd. I really believe he would have said something about removing percentage signs instead of just eliminating them all together with no explanation behind it.

I dunno. I guess we'll see what happens when the game is released, but there's still something that bugs me about it...

I think that The numbers ate just the damage without the percents, only because I can think of nothing else. It could be stamina that starts from zero and then they die at 100, who knows?

u can tell tht 4 of them are squished in the smaler space because of coop. They probably didnt have space to put the percent.

Remember that Wi-fi update where Donkey Kongs name on his Percentage icon was just Donkey?
and then a few updates later it changed to Donkey Kong?

Well the percentage signs are on the Human player(s) but not the Alloys. I really don't know what it could mean.

The numbers are just damage percentages, because:

1. There's a picture where there are 2 Green Alloys, its not logic that there would be 2 different spaces for the same character.
2. In the image where Sonic and Mario appear, Sonic kicks 2 alloys, and their damage meters show a number, so its obviously the damage they have taken.
3. Both Mario and Sonic have the % sign, and it looks too tight, but without them it look ok.

you're wrong its the percentage. Notice how the numbers get more red as the number goes higher.

The pictures being in beta could explain why the percentage sign is not there.

It's either part of the beta, and they simply haven't added percent signs, or there's a set number you have to damage them to to be KO worthy. If you could figure out a way to kill those things at 0, it'd be broken.

I don't know just some thoughts.

You see that 39 is more red then the other numbers. So its the percentages. Stop overreacting

Obviously because it's too crammed with them.

Note this screen shot. As you can see, Human Players still have the % sign. My guess is that if you remove them from the programming here, they'll be removed from the programming in the rest of the game. The % signs for the individual Alloys were not programmed, and due to the space issue, they were left out. You can see with Sonic and Mario that Mario's % sign overlaps Sonic's picture. That looks sloppy, so they were left out for the Alloys.
