So, how's Allstar mode? What do you think about it?

I think it's a lot better than the past versions in Melee and Brawl. It's more manageable to use, especially for the characters that you're not good at using, so you could get them out of the way.

The only problem is that the unlockable characters are too easy to get, which means you could accidentally end up getting the complete version within a short matter of time.

I never liked the way how Melee did All-Star Mode (the Rest Area was beautiful) and Brawl's All-Star took too long. This is the perfect way to do it, I think.
Hard is a little bit on the easy side, though.

I always liked Brawl's All-Star Rest Area theme.

You're kidding, right?

It may be easy for certain characters because of their versatility or brute strength (a la Bowser.) A few characters I played though somehow get slaughtered in later rounds. Sometimes the difficulty comes from how much ground the CPUs are covering to attack me, or from the stage gimmicks (e.g. Jungle Japes' river death, Magicant crazy sh*t going on.)

And since you can't continue in this game, any slip ups means going back to round one.

Oh, but I agree with you stages play a crucial point in All-Star. I just expected All-Star Hard to be like Very Hard in Melee or Intense in Brawl.
Ah well, at least Classic 9.0 is more like them instead.

I was surprised that continues are gone, which will make getting trophies for the characters I'm not very good with more frustrating I'm sure. Other than that, I think the healing items are about right (other than the time I only had a fairy bottle left and got stuck with 99% thanks to a stage hazard killing the last opponent). The stage you get is really crucial though, so there's certainly an element of luck. I still prefer Melee's totally random character groupings though, but I appreciate the longer fights that help to speed it up in Smash 4.

Just play it on easy mode.

Yeah, if you want to get trophy a for ZSS glorious booty simply Play on easy mode.

And I have to ask this: Is there like in the older all star Version a Bonus if you don'tuse any healing item? I tried it once but I didn't noticed it to be honest.

I think it's boring and tedious. Beating this with every character? Are you serious? >_>

If you beat it with every character you get a piece of clothing for mii fighter. Totally optional but a fun thing if you wanna do it.

I like All star mode ok. The chonological groupings made me really nostalgic and stuff.

I got mad that Charizard at 99% can't use Flare Blitz in the rest area to hurt himself

It's okay, a bit too short and easy, maybe space it out and do it 2 characters per match, and just order by day of release in this case, 12 minutes max on normal difficulty currently

I noticed that you don't fight Dr. Mario, Lucina, or Dark Pit, at least on normal mode.

So yeah. That's a thing.

Urgh, so I need that one for the "Collect all Items and stuff" achievement? >_>
Yup. Funny how some challenges are connected together like a sandwich.

Kirby Air Ride did just that with the objectives that unlocked the Hydra and Dragoon; you had to clear the objectives that award you the parts that make the air ride machines first.

Thanks for the info! Oh Boy, at least I will still be busy until Smash Wii U arrives in December. :p

Okay, after playing the True All-Star Mode several times, I've basically gotten down some of the stage picks that are used for each stage level...

Stage Level | Stage Picks
1 | Jungle Japes, Flat Zone 2, Boxing Ring
2 | Golden Plains, Mushroomy Kingdom, Gerudo Valley, Brinstar
3 | Yoshi's Island, Mute City, Reset Bomb Forest, Wily Castle
4 | Dream Land, Corneria, WarioWare Inc., Green Hill Zone
5 | Spirit Train, Unova Pokemon League, Magicant
6 | 3D Land, Distant Planet, Tortimer Island
7 | Rainbow Road, Prism Tower, Arena Ferox, Gaur Plain

There might be some stages that I missed, but above are the ones that I've seen the most.

And with the new info about the Wii U version, we now know that Wii U's All-Star Mode have you fight the roster in reverse order. So Mario, Luigi, etc. will be among the last group of characters you face for that one while Greninja, Robin, Lucina, etc. will be among the very first.

I can't believe I actually called that (on a different forum).

Thanks for posting here to brag that you made an easy prediction on a different forum and it came true.

I beat it with all characters, but the problem is that there are no continues, so if you SD you're done.

I did Hard as Bowser myself and then did Normal with the rest. After a few silly moments where I SD or got taken out by falling on the track on spirit tracks or Charizard's flare blitz KOing me I put it down to easy for the characters I wasn't too familiar with
But I agree it is rather easier and quicker than the previous ones.

The CPUs seem to attack you maybe one at a time at first...BUT as soon as one hits you it's like warning lights go off on all their heads and you get combo'd /dog piled by them all @_@ .They have the same mentality in multi man smash as well.

I usually had this in mind for every stage

Stage 1 : Little Mac and his counter, CPU Pac man loves dem hydrants when you're below him
Stage 2: Bowser seems a tad more aggressive than the rest
Stage 3: Megaman's pellets can actually set you up to get dog piled.
Stage 4: Fox and Falco seem pretty smash attack happy
Stage 5: Shiek is like a fly that won't leave you alone. Charizard seems to be the most aggressive of the bunch and regardless of how your defence and attack seems to be buffed in All star can still KO you with the knockback of flare blitz if your damage is high enough x_X
Stage 6: Olimar and Lucario always managed to get a few hits on me
Stage 7: Shulk tends to use buster a lot, Lucina counters all day long

I usually dread Stage 5 and Stage 7 really. 5 is where I take the maximum tomatoes because of bloody charizard. xD

I like it better than other installments. Sure it is easier even on hard but they make it up imo if you die then you are done, no continues at all.

Too many characters; makes it a chore. It's also upsetting if you have about 99% damage and your only healing item left is the fairy jar.

I think they should only have required you to defeat about 25 characters, and after that ask you if you want to "hold or fold" between every match. Then you could gamble with your score if you wanted to, or achieve the bare minimum if you wanted to.

I have a mission to complete All Star with everyone. If I do a couple at a time, it's not too bad, and I'm using this mode to try characters. I actually think I like Toon Link, oddly, and I learned his play through this mode.

What I HATE is when you are assigned the DK stage. I'm not a fan of G&W either, but I tend to find myself rushed offstage in the drink. That stage can go die in a flaming fire.
