Dude, remember how I said that I have 3 roommates that are nigras? Well turns out that I have a native one too. So one of those nigras don't actually live here but has been staying in the living room since I moved in...

Edit: I agree with James, if the tournament is on Saturday then we should at least get ready for it. And I like Matts idea. That approach might work better since Brawl is the newer game and so people might be more open to that.

You guys do WAY more than constructive criticism, and remember that these aren't your buddies, they are people that don't know you and probably don't have a clue if you know what your talking about.

The whole point is that we get them to join, and then gradually convert them back. Of course they aren't just going to sporadically switch to the previous game is the series because some guy they don't know told them it is better. Not to mention that the fact that they are at a brawl tournament means they probably enjoy brawl and don't appreciate you telling them how bad you think it is.

I really don't like how you simultaneously preach how we need to expand our numbers and scare off any potential new people.
On top of this, you then talk about how every new person who joins should be X, Z, and definitely NOT Y as if we were some exclusive club. Do you really think we will find people nowadays that are good at melee, don't like brawl, and are immune to your incessant trolling? Finding Alex was largely a measure of luck and we shouldn't count on having more people just "show up" like that.

And by the way Mike trash talking is obviously not going to be taken lightly by people who don't know you.

I honestly dont care what you like or dislike. if they had potential they would stay. IE Alex, if anyone has potential we can spot it. and we dont want pansies in this community, the old smash community was filled with cool people, because people didnt cry at every single insult. there were also much cooler people who learned their place and know how to listen to the more experienced people. thats why it was awesome, and thats why it was good. id rather smash with a few non pansies and non *******es and people who share similar point of view, than a **** ton of people who are ****ing borderline scrubs. the metho of approach you suggested fails, and me and adrian both have the research to prove it. in anycase, you're bad at the game, Alex recently got back into the game 2 weeks ago and he's already 4 stocking you. Try acting like you know what you're doing when you actually start beating people when they dont sandbag.

Matt's trying to pick up where Derek left off, by smashing everyday in the SU, we hope to make people better. After having a really good discussion with Arthur, Matt and Ricky, we are going about this the wrong way. Brawl killed us, and we have to accept that fact, but that doesnt mean its completely hopeless. Lets all try picking up another game, IE starcraft. that way we have more reason to get together, and since we all play melee, there will be melee there. Brawl converted people and thats the game people want to play, however, those who prefer melee will naturally show themselves as we progress. hence the whole smashing at the dorm and SU part.

Seriously, we should be focused on getting better if anything. I recently took initiative to actually learn to ****ing waveshine and apply it >.>. everyone should do the same. Step it up guys.

And by the way Matt, i dont care if my trash talking isnt going to be taken lightly i barely know. cuz i barely know them. In fact, this arguing is getting nowhere, you're in eagle river, im in anchorage. i really dont care if you do things your way out there. but here its my jurisdiction, and we'll do things our way, regardless of what you say.

You know, I consider myself a veteran of the community. And as a veteran, I'd like to say I'd be able to hold my own against people down in the lower48. Not necessarily getting in the top 48 in pound or anything, but If I went to a typical tournament in California or Washington, I bet I would get out of pools at least.
I mean, I was playing with derek right after and before he went down to compete. When he beat eggz, took a match of M2K, beat DSF repeatedly and was obviously a worthy contender. Back then I might not have been the best player up here, but over the next couple of months I improved drastically, and ended up holding my own against derek, and other good people like daniel and ricky.

What reasons do you have backing up saying we're worse players? Besides lower population, and lack of experience we have. I mean the only out of state interaction I've ever had was with 1 player named G@BE from Texas like 2 years ago. The same or even less can be said about everyone else up here excluding Derek, Daniel and Jordan.

I'm not disagreeing with you about Alaska being a lower skill level, but just because we have no experience with OOS people, we shouldn't have an opinion on it IMO.

also dude where did you find that gforce ninja pic? I know you didn't take it because Maacaroni or whatever that DK's name was took it. The only dude who was beating my dps.... ****er And yeah, Gforce got gkicked. Solangel said he couldn't make our raid times but I'm guessing this was the reason.

I Doubt any one wants to hear my opinion on things but here goes.

I havent got the chance to play melee as much as ive wanted to, i can agree and disagree to what alot say on Brawl. Its true that hard core goes melee, and the rest go brawl, either way i enjoy both games. Im just tired of the comparism of the two games when honostly each one is better in different aspects. As long as its a fighting game thats worth the play time, ill get in to it.

As for recruiting people who for brawl or melee, I think this approach usually ends up better. from working retail for more than a year now, one of the most important things to realize is to not bug your customer on buying your product, but to let him know hes greeted, welcomed, and treated with respect. I dont go out of my way to get a customer to buy something i think he or she MIGHT want. I dont wanna sell some one a product because i want their sale, i want them to enjoy themselves with making a desicion, and showing them I Care about what they buy so they enjoy it.

In other words, Dont force it upon people who like to play smash, because theres crowds that like to become the best at it, and theres the rest that dont. I consider my self one of the better players, and i wasnt recruited or any thing, I went out of my way to find a community who enjoyed Smash just as much as myself.

The Point of the retail speach i gave, is to honostly wait to find some one who you know has the potentiol to be good. they will come if they are interested enough, if they werent, they wouldnt even bother to look for a community like this. Just because some one likes smash, dont assume they can go pro level, YOU HAVE TO KNOW IF THEY HAVE THE POTENTIOL OR NOT. i have several friends who play smash but cant get any better than they want to.

Any ways enough of my huge wall of text, if any of you really want some good fighting games to play and relax from smash, play some SF4 and Or GG and BB CS. other fighters tend to keep my happy.

I'm not saying just bring in random people, I'm just saying that we shouldn't chase anyone off especially for such a bad reason as "Liking the wrong game".

After reading Orry's post I thought he wasn't on either of our "sides" he was just making a point saying that some people have potential and others don't......which I agree with. But whether they do or no should not be decided sporadically by one person after seeing 30 seconds of a Brawl match. Its even worse how people get labeled as "hopeless" and is completely given up on because of such a stupid judgment call.
