Okay so I was thinking about wanting to do something for charity, and how it would be cool to do like a Brawl tournament with some of the proceeds going to help the Haiti victims. What do you guys think...?

Well I figured you'd have a troll response, but what does everyone else think? It would of course be open to the public and stuff.

I'd be DK so I could spam DownB, lololololol so baddd.

But in all seriousness, I'd be down for it. I dunno about everyone else though cause we seem to have alot of people who are anti-Brawl. But w/e.

Edit: What's up with everyone wanting to play scrubs? What's so great about it? It's not even fun. It's better to play against people who can hold their own.

I mean sure, play them if your intent is to teach people to get better, which I highly doubt knowing certain people in this community. It's better to play people to play people who are close to your skill level and above. You don't learn to get better by playing scrubs. >_>

Close games >>> Repetitive 4stocks

IN OTHER NEWS, you guys know how I've been saying that I'm not gonna play WoW because I know how addicted I would become? Welll....

Guess who got bored and curious and has been playing for 5 hours now? I knew I should've just stuck with Maple Story. Now I'm gonna be playing BOTH MS and WoW...

GOD, what was I thinking?! >_<

alright, since you pulled the fragile ego card and all. ima help you out a bit.

theres gonna be a tournament SOMEWHERE at SOMETIME during this month. its gonna be scrubs galore, cuz me and adrian told ALL the scrubs we know. its time to profit! yea!

now, if you want to know more, here are my demands. we'll fix it so that you get 3rd place, but we want 75% of your profit. these are nonnegotiable. take it or leave it.

also 1337th post!

Rigging the brackets? Unacceptable... >_>

You don't just win/place in a tournaments that easily. It's something that you must work to achieve. It's something that must be earned. You think they're just gonna let me skip my way to Grand Finals at Tourneyplay4? Of course I don't expect to win this thing. I'm mostly attending for the overall experience of a large-scale competition. Playing against people better than you guys might make me better or something. And if you wanna ***** about me misrepresenting AK, I say you either get better or get yo *** registered and represent yourself.

And if you really need money that bad, why don't you just get a job? ¯\(ºдಠ)/¯

apparently someone shoots his mouth off before knowing the full story...

check it, me and adrian are clearly the strongest players there, seeding the brackets so that we are on the opposite ends is clearly legal seeing as how every tournament does it. i was talking about rigging the brackets for kira only so she would get 3rd place. it really doesnt matter where you put me and adrian cuz we'll demolish every scrub there.

also, i think someones a little jealous that they arent going to said tournament. in anycase, ill play by the rules when i have to, any other times, ill have fun watching my puppets dance while i chill on the sidelines.

you guys complain about curruption, do ti elsewhere cuz at the moment, no one is stopping us. kthnkbai

brad, It has nothing to do with competion at all. its all about maximizing our profits since there's no glory in beating scrubs.

why should'nt we take adavntage of a brawl scene where those who have the potential to be good at brawl dont play it, and 99% of the random scrubs that make up 95% of the tournaments up here dont now what there doing.

EDIT: Silent specture 2-0 armada in singles Winners bracket @ pound 4
ROFL europe >.< and silent specture and darkrain went double falcon in melee doubles and took 2nd.

falcons are taking over guyz

Weren't we all scrubs at some point? I mean, you gotta start somewhere and build upon that accordingly. If there's no glory in beating scrubs all, why don't we train these guys so that they DO know what they're doing? Let's pave the road for the future of our smash community just as those before us did! We also need to remediate the overall attitude of our community as far as what's important in a competitive setting.

IT'S NOT TOO LATE

ya, someone (brad) was VERY babied when they were introduced into the community. back when we joined, there was no mercy, if we wanted to play, we had to take initiative. you can remediate all YOU want, but me and adrian are gonna keep doing what we're doing until we're A. gone from alaska B. stop playing smash c. dead.

so, thats that

Wouldn't A and B already be implied if you were C?

Anyways you guys are stupid, there are much more efficient ways to make money out there, and all your doing is hurting the community by making us look like douchebags.

How is seeding a tourney correctly supposed to make us look like douchebags? I'd imagine if Arthur played, he'd be in a different bracket.

Also, we're talking about lwarb, right?

with great power comes great responsibility. i say **** that, ill use my skills ive gained in smash and show these scrubs that they are terrible, and if they want to have any chance of winning, they WILL play by our rules, cuz otherwise they'll just get demolished

I wouldn't be complaining as much if you were at least teaching them what they're doing wrong so they can improve. Don't show them how terrible they are; show them how much better they can become! Light the path and show them the way!

In other news, I woke up at around 2 today. I know I probably missed Melee Grand Finals so I backtrack and start watching the recorded videos starting with Armada vs M2K. Near the end of the last set, I check my phone for any messages. Oh, Charlie tried to call me? I cal her back and tell her I'm watching the matches and she goes and tells me how boring the PUFF DITTOS IN THE GRAND FINALS WERE. Spoiler much??? ¯\(ºдಠ)/¯

God, never have I seriously wanted to smack her before but really? She told me she was sorry, she didn't mean it, tried to back pedal and say that the grand finals were actually kinda interesting and at least she didn't tell me who were playing. (Obviously HungryBox and Mango, the only puffs that would actually get that far.)

Anyways, she had to go do something so I let her go. I tried to keep watching but I couldn't even finish the Armada vs Amsah set. FML

well, me and adrian teach the people who have potential...
thats the way to find good smashers, if you recall mike, there are some people just not meant to play smash, specificly the kid from the "Tournament" at the base, showin us how boss he is at smash when really he just didnt understand.

I normally am more open minded to bring in more smashers, but they have to show more interest in the game to know they have the right potentiol, there are some out there that doesnt have what it takes.

VERY good point and a nice example to boot.

anyways, check it out

alright, so check it, i looked around and found a place for a new tournament. its a good sized room, easily fits like 60 people. and its on UAA campus so its easy to find, and reach. Also, there will be food vendors nearby. i can rent the place for 8+ hours if desired. this is going to be after senshi-con

Ima be up front with yall right now, there will be a venue fee PLUS a tournament fee. You only have to pay the venue fee if you choose to enter a tournament. The venue fee is going to be $5 per tournament. However, we are in need of TVs, and set ups, so if you choose to bring one, you get a discount on the fee for one tournament. if you have any other suggestions to help with venue fees so it doesnt affect players as much, of course im willing to hear it out (inb4novenuefeesyousuck)

Tournament fees are gonna vary. $5 for any smaller or side tournaments. $10 for any major ones. Considering that it IS going to be on a weekend, at UAA. count on a good amount of scrubs showing up. a lot of them cocky as hell and are willing to pay money to enter. thats more prize money for you guys.

So far the events are going to be

Major Tournaments

Melee Singles
Melee Doubles
Brawl Singles
Brawl Doubles
SSF4
Tekken 6
Halo 3

Side Tournaments

Guilty Gear
BlazBlue
MvC2
TvC??? <--- HUUUGE Maybe

Im definitely open to suggestions, comments, questions. I mean, its still in the planning stages and theres still quite a bit of time, so i wanna know wuts up and try and make this a REALLY good tournament so we can do this on possibly a triannual basis. Everyones been talking a lot lately, and there hasnt been any tournaments to let them prove their word. so here it is. Go big or go home.

Could we possibly get a 3rd strike side tournament? That is, depending on the status of SSF4 and such.

That's quite a few major events, do you plan to hold these on the same day simultaneously (Melee, Brawl, Tekken on one day for example) or is it going to alternate between each event (Smash for one day, Tekken on the next week, Halo on another for example)?

The venue vee is very understandable, especially for the amount of room that is being used.

Good idea for a tournament but weren't you chewing my *** over the idea of a venue fee when I was planning my tournament? Why the change of heart? Meh, nvm idc etc. etc.

And holy crap, all of these events in ONE 8 hour day? Dude, this will probably be hectic but meh, since this is still in the early planning stage, there's time to tweak the schedule. Make it 2 days and there will be alot more room to space things out so people who want to enter multiple tournaments don't have as many conflicting tourneys, if any. I know that that'll mean a bigger price tag on expenses but I'm just having a hard time seeing a tournament that big being run smoothly and in an organized manner within an 8 hour window. Maybe there's an option of somehow fundraising? Also, you think anyone would be willing to sponsor the event?

I think a game that's pretty big right now is Modern Warfare 2. Put that in the roster and spread the word and there's sure to be a high turnout. If there's a problem of having too many events all at once, you could also save some tournaments for future events. That's assuming that the possibility of this becoming a triannual event is actually doable.

Speaking of too many events, I counted 11 events total to be held in the space of 8 hours. In my opinion, I think there's some more narrowing down to be done. I just looked at my flyer for TourneyPlay 4 and there's gonna only be 6 events for the weekend. I know it might seem ridiculous to compare this event to something like TP4 but it's just something to think about. And just so we're clear, have you looked up any guides on how to be a TO/hold a good event? I'm sure there's lots of seasoned TOs that could give you better insight on this than I can.

But yeah, good ****. Eager to see how it all plays out.

Edit: After seeing this, Derek's hand just don't look as magical...
