So I do art, or at least I like to say I do.
I don't know if I should really be calling myself an artist at all.
So maybe you can let me know? Hm? Alright, sounds good.
Tell me honestly what you think of some of my art work.

Feel free to post your artwork here as well and I'll give you critiques. You critique me, I critique you. : 3 Fair trade off, right?
Well here I go.

So, please honestly tell me how these pictures make you feel.
You can be as mean or nice as you want me to be.
Right now I'm in a rough point when it comes to art. I feel that I'm getting worse rather than better.
And I need to know if honestly anyone thinks what I do is good.
Well here it is.
PLEASE give constructive criticism. Stuff that I can actually use.

Well, on the positive side, I absolutely love your style of coloring. It's like their eyes are made of some glass/candy hybrid and it's just awesome. The eyes on Tsuki in Tsuki Face Close Up, for instance; I could stare at those all day. On the negative side, your proportions aren't so great. In fact I'd have to say they are pretty bad... But hey! The coloring is great, and that's better than nothing!

As for my own art, I can't draw worth a crap. My computer generated stuff, on the other hand, is pretty good if I do say so myself. Here's a coupe of mine:

Yeah that is understandable. lol I'm TRYING to get better with proportions. xD;;; It just seems like nothing really works, or there is no sure fire method for getting better at em.
Ah well, at least you like the colors lol.

Ah see, now this stuff looks neat. It's really pretty for computer generated stuff. ^^

Welcome to the SWF, by the way :3

Hmm...I'd have to agree with BakaJuice's opinions
Your coloring is very nice thoug...very bright. Do you use SAI?

Proportions and anatomy in anime can be a total pain to get right, so i know how you feel haha

If you wanna check out my work, my DA is:

Havent really uploaded much in a while. Art block sucks. And scanner likes to eat my colors.

Funnily enough I was just thinking that Akako's style looks similar to Chronodiver Lokii's. o_O

I think they must be long lost siblings.

LOL lost siblings.

Maybe we should collab<3

Yup yup, I use Sai. I use to use Photoshop, but I found that Sai loves my tablet more than PS. Tell me about scanners eating stuff. xD;;; I use to color in copics, but scanners don't like that. So now I just line art and color right in the computer.

Hur, I really like Lokii's art so if I am ANYTHING like this person lol, I'm happy.

Any tips, or suggestions you can give meh?

Oh, and thanks for the welcome. : D

Oooh~ Link -watches you-

Hmm... a collab sounds like FUN!~ <3

SAI is an excellent program. SAI > PS, in all seriousness. Photoshop is more used for editting instead of drawing xD

All i can say is, practice makes perfect. Work on realistic anatomy and build on that, because that'll help your style tenfold.

Sai is so much better than PS. lol

Oh man I am in life drawing class. xD;;; And it still hasn't directly helped me, yet, lol.

But I guess there is nothing wrong with practicing.

*grumble* I do my drawing in Photoshop. D:<

What exactly is SAI? I've never heard of it. I have to admit, whatever it is it looks like it makes coloring evenly a lot easier.

Paint Tool SAI is a more of a manga/cartoon and drawing program. It has really REALLY clean lines and colors look REALLY vibrant. There is no dodge/burn...but you learn to work around that. or you abuse layer settings xD
Has nice set of brush options to use (Pen tool, ink pen [smaller lines, more fine], airbrush, watercolor, brush, marker, etc)

And its cheaper than photoshop by...well...how much is photoshop nowadays? I forget.

By like 550 I believe.

AI doesn't the best line work and vectors I've ever seen.
Photoshop is decent overall.
I love the coloring I can do in Sai.

As for critique. Everything is flat. WHOLE TEAM IZ BEHBEHS! (felt like adding that statement for the sake of randomness). Coloring is p. good and has a good feel to it. Your anatomy has gotten better over time and so has your line work. You are very novice though. Find a way to add more depth to your drawings. Even though there is a good mix of poses I suppose, and shading is decent, there is no sense of foreshortening.

Yup, Photoshop is expensive where as you can get Paint Tool Sai for just 50 bucks. Better investment overall if you're just going to do the kind of thing I do.

Hmm, thank you Doromac. Are there any specific ways you think I can improve on the foreshortening and what not? I would really appreciate pointers.

Like life drawing this year has been kind of scary. Considering I feel as though I've gotten worse at anatomy, rather than better. I felt I was doing better just practicing from tutorials than actual life.

Really, anymore pointers would really be appreciated. Gotta get better : D Gotta!
