impressions after playing it at best buy, both 3DS and wii U.
smash DI does not seem to exist
Link (and any character with a throwable item) can still do their fsmash while holding the item, just like in brawl you have to hold the A button while using the C-stick to do the smash. this is extremely cumbersome due to the placement of the r analog stick on the wii u pro controller(they did not have any GCN ones) so thank god for the GCN controller and adapter.
Sonic has all/most of his advanced techs from his side b it seems still intact, from shielding while charging, to spinshotting, did not get enough time to see if he can still shield on landing on the ground from his down special, but with how things seem so far, i'm betting he can.
L-cancelling doesn't exist.
3DS smash run was pretty interesting, but by the time every character is powered up with def. and att. it honestly doesn't feel much like things have changed aside from jump height and run speed.
