I know there is a Q/A topic but i had a question that i feel may require more than a quick answer.

I've seen quite a few marth's combo an aerial db1 -> fair. I was wondering if this is actually a viable attack given DB's cooldown time and hitstun. does DB have less cooldown in the air? because i know that on the ground if you end the DB combo, your opponent can hit you before you can get off another attack, so why is this not true in the air.

i suppose it is possible to use it as a mindgame gimp, use the DB in a position where if they attack or airdodge the lag causes them to fall out of recovery range.

really, what are marth's options for using DB in the air? I've only ever done it as an aerial stall or used the full combo to punish when i don' want to wait til i hit the ground.

There have been more complex questions posted on the Q&A thread but anyway....

No
DB doesn't have less cooldown in the air IIRC. In both cases (grounded and aerial) DB1 never truly combos (it might at really high %'s but yet to be proven/tested), people can hit you out of db1>fair in the air except its just much harder to since they have less options to do so.

What you listed are the two uses of DB in the air. Another one is to use only the first strike to pseudo combo, nothing much after that.

You know that there are multiple Marths that are willing and probably more than likely will answer your question short and long. Making a thread just for a question knowing wehave a Q/A thread was pretty ignorant. (Just throwing that out their)

But Aerial DB is a bad option and might only work when it is used at an unexpected time.
