Advice vs. Yoshi?

My friend plays Yoshi (because he's a "f#$%in' tank"/"so cute"), and while he isn't the best in our circle of smashers, he always seems to beat me. It seems like I can never get past the super armor frames, and/or I get outprioritized. He loves his down-B, if that matters.

So what should I do to beat a meh Yoshi? I feel like a scrub for losing so often to him.

Feed him a Grenade?

But seriously, Snake should have a natural advantage against Yoshi if you stay on the ground. The only thing Yoshi has that Snake doesnt is a tether grab, everything else is outdone by Snake. Utilize Mortar Slides, Grenade Cooking, and tilts to pile up damage and the Nikitia or certain shorthopped aerials (Uair or Bair) to finish him. If he's moving around too much plant a C4 and Dsmash to hinder him, and if he keeps spamming the Yoshi Buttslam just grapple him in the downtime.

Also, STAY OUT OF THE AIR.

My friend plays yoshi as well and constantly uses the down+B . He is very predictable with it, and because of that, I can shield drop grenades when he's above me and either make him avoid using it, or have him blow himself up. Sometimes my Uair manages to hit him in the initial frames of his down+B, but I don't rely on that too much.

Don't try to counter Yoshi's buttslam with the mortar. Yoshi will destroy the missle and hit you. The only time you should be in the air is if Yoshi has depleted his midair jump. If so, pressure him off the course and keep him in the air. After 3 Egg Throws, he will stop getting net distance. Be thankful he isn't using eggs. If he was, this match would be notably harder.

Thanks for the help, everyone. I've played him some more recently, and I'm doing much better. He does his down+B from fairly high up, so I can dodge that now *before* attacking.

Also, he uses some eggs, but tends to stand still while tossing them. I can usually sneak a grenade or two under their arc to throw him off.
