So while playing Brawl competitively (Not Melee because my memory card got corrupted D:) since like November 2013 LMAO I've watched a lot of matches (Melee matches. I don't watch Brawl matches much MK's everywhere :/) and It came to mind that since I play competitively I kinda do wanna go to tournaments I mean it's kinda better than just sitting at home doing Marth v.s. whoever all day at home...right? So I wanted some advice just so I know ahead of times for things to do that are right and wrong. Though I'm still kinda rusty at competitive playing I think I'll soon get it :) (For someone my age I think I'm pretty good actually lol).

If you've never been to a tournament, I would just work on the skills you already know until you feel that your movement is good. Don't go into the tournament expecting to win, but still try your best and don't get discouraged. Go with the intent of being social, talking to other players, making friends and absorbing information. Your tournament experience will seem much more fulfilling that way. I have seen players that quietly sit in the corner and wait for the bracket matches to be called, get an unlucky draw against two really good players, and leave once they were knocked out. The tournament experience should be a home away from home imo, so I would definitely put priority on trying to make some friends and getting contact info, introducing yourself and things of that nature :) Once you feel comfortable and welcomed after a few events, then you can work on your skills.
