Hey, I have mained :popo:at a competitive level for a bit, and people are always surprised that I feel better using a Classic pro controller then a GC one.

Is there any major flaws in using the classic?

I use it myself. Don't really see any flaw, other than the apparent extra 4-frame lag wireless controllers apparently cause.

Eh, I dont really notice the framle loss exept with wireless gamecube controllers. The wiimote+ classic just seems more responsive.

Yeah, I rarely feel lags when I play on my new wii (black one, unfortunately) on HDTV that I have at home. But I do feel ccp can be little bit too sensitive at times or may be it's just my way of using sticks. Other than that, it has remained faithful and I guess I will stick with this one unless I get a good deal on gamecube-usb converter and the gcc itself. Come to think of it, it may be too late for me to learn gcc because I am already used to ccp after 2 months of usage.

I honestly picked up the Classic cause it had more buttons then the GC. That way I could map things different.

It's the very same debate than gamepad vs. arcade stick. In the end, it's more often than not about what you prefer and what feels "right" for you. If you couldn't map buttons, maybe we could argue that one controller is superior.

I second what Jabejazz said. I mean, every controllers have pros and cons. So it comes down to selecting whichever one you feel the most comfortable. I am working on taking full control of ccp so that I can do tilt moves and performing things without unintentional reversals (especially on aerials and specials).

I also main :popo:, and I have also used the classic pro due to only having a black wii. I noticed that it was a little hard to do short hop aerials (could just be me), I now have a white and feel better on the GC controller. Its your preference, and based on your youtube videos it seems the controller is doing you well :D

Don't use wiimote + attachments unless you really don't want to pick up GC. Wireless interference will be an issue even if you adjust to the lag. The signal can sometimes just drop causing you to "let go" of a button you are holding, which can screw up the most basic things like charging a smash or holding your shield.

I personally use GCC, but no disadvantage comes from the CCP. I think people just took it as inferior from the start for no good reason, and it became a pretty widespread belief.

PS: My Ice Climbers pic is better than yours. :teeth:

Yeah stuff like glide toss/boost grab is easier with ccp, but DACUS is easier with gcc, it really depends on your style.
I think everyone who played Melee before Brawl doesn't like ccp cuz they're used to ccp.

Well basically everyone played melee before brawl. I used GC for like forever when I played melee, love dat ganondorf.

But ya, most people bash on classic.

I prefer the triggers of Classic since you have 2 on each side and the controller as a whole just fits more naturally to me. I only use GC because of the 4 frame lag, and if I could use a wired Classic controller style controller I would be in heaven!

I agree with Illuvial there, ccp feels more natural for me but input lag at times makes me want to switch to gcc even if that means I have to pay for usb-gc port converter.

Yeah, I don't think I can switch easily at this point. I am too used to having my left trigger (although I barely use it to do anything)

I am not to that degree because I mostly perform grabs in a different ways even though I set it to be Grab, but I agree with ya.

Classic or GC is the way to go. Neither of them limit you and some even argue that one is better than the other. Personally, I use GC but classic is equally good for this game, no better, no worse.
