It's fake leak season once again, /v/ is sure to be stuffed to the gills with those. Only pay attention to anyone with a name, if you must, and only ones that don't blindly report on every single leak.
that's a given if no big leaker says it's so then it's not worth listening too only looking at for a brief moment

Welp, with people having early access to copies of Cold Steel 3, I wonder when someone will upload the credits because there is some speculation on the VAs for the characters who were never voiced in English before

We got this video to go off at least for some of them.

Cold Steel 2 spoilers though in this vid.

Dunno. In the case that they were to add Adol, the music selection would most likely be limited to the Ys series, since each DLC fighter thus far has content pertaining to each one's own franchise. We could either get the direct tracks from some of the games, or arranged versions (most likely from Ys I, II, Napishtim, Seven, and perhaps VIII and IX).

I see what you mean but hey I bet you didnt think about spirits of the other falcom characters which can make what I said happen

A cool possible scenario if Estelle somehow got in. That's some awesome work right there.
Wow this is amazing. I love it.

Also sorry I haven't been on for a bit, between work, life and CS3 I haven't had much time

Wow, this is all good; I think the highlight for me is the spirit selection! I can't think of a more fitting stage than Arseille, too. Thanks for sharing.

What if adol and Estelle were like pokemon trainer since they are the ogs of falcom and in a final smash they can bring all of their friends from each game and do a combo

In an ideal scenario, both are separate characters, but we know how unlikely that is. Together I see it even less likely than separately honestly

Still, it's not entirely out of the window that they both come since they're 2 different franchises. However, if they add a Mii costume/spirit for when one of them drops... things change a bit

The reason I said that because of ys vs sora no kiseki which can make that happened

People would perceive him as just another anime swordsman, but I'd love to see him in the game. Gaming history is what Smash is all about celebrating, so a series that began in 1987 with the same protagonist is a no brainer. There are so many options for the music selection, but what would be the appropriate stage? Solomon Shrine?

Solomon Shrine would be a good one, I think Darm Tower would be the best choice though personally.

Guy gets around way too much to be locked down to one stage from one game. He'd probably get a stage from the most recent game (or most recent on a Nintendo console?), so either Monstrum Nox or Lacrimosa of Dana. I'd be happy with whatever, so long as Vacant Interference and The Boy's got Wings can play in the background.

Lacrimosa if we're going by what was on a Nintendo console most recently then haha. I always feel like Sakurai for 3rd party folks will take the earliest iconic setpiece for their stage.

Seen more so with Cloud and Sonic, i'm kinda surprised they didn't use the Casino for Joker still.

Sakurai just gave us hope because he said that's character doesn't need to be recognizable to join smash but they need to be fun :)
Yeah I figured we could see that as some hope there.

Oh this thread exists now? Hell yeah. Sign me up for that support list.

If I could get Ys music in Smash I'd die happy. Can't even imagine how good Valestein Castle could sound!
Welcome!

Never touched Ys in my life and really don't care for Adol at all but my gut feeling is saying Falcom is next in line.

Like I see all the love Sakurai gave SNK and I'm of the mind that the last fighter has to, in Sakurai's mind, have some real sense of significance to their inclusion in beyond just being a popular character/franchise and I don't think something hugely popular like Resident Evil or Doom would be held back until after the holiday period instead of Terry Bogard who a lot of people were unfamiliar with. And then I remember him putting in a Mii costume of Gil of Tower of Drauga fame of all characters and while its a different game from a different era made by a different company, it still makes me think, "If he respects the Grandfather of Action RPGs that much to give him such an acknowledgement, I wonder how much he loves the company that many people would say perfected the genre?"

Seriously, I have over a dozen Japanese 3rd parties I'd like to see before Adol but I believe that if Sakurai loves Falcom half as much as he does SNK, then Falcom has the last pack virtually on lockdown. Anyway good luck to you guys.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more sense it makes for Falcom to get a rep via Adol. A company that has pioneered action RPGs in the beginning, Ys being a series that is still going strong and has a recent entry in IX and a Switch port of VIII, and of course, it's fairly big in Japan. To me, Hero's inclusion also entertains the idea, being that DQ had the historical impact of leading the way for JRPGs, and that series is also far bigger in Japan than it is in the West. At this point, obscurity doesn't really matter, which along with Hero's inclusion, Terry has also helped prove. Though he is a big icon in fighting games, he is no doubt smaller than Ryu, matter of fact, the amount of people that didn't even know who he was shows as much, but SNK and Terry have been impactful in their own right in fighting game history.

Adol is one of these characters, small and less recognizable, but he has had a huge impact on the genre his games categorize in.

Falcom is definitely one the companies that fits the bill very well, I certainly believe that they're a likely candidate for #5, it just makes so much sense when you think of what Falcom contributed to the action RPG genre.
