Recently I've been looking over the new character support threads and I'm surprised that Adol wasn't in the list.

About Adol:

MORE MARTHS! Joking of course. Adol is from the Ys series. Ys itself is notorious for having fun, fast paced, yet unforgiving gameplay, and great OSTs.

Adol was taught how to swing a sword by his father, and his skill eventually became good enough to give him a worldwide reputation, along with the nickname Adol The Red.

Adol is a professional cartographer and a self proclaimed adventurer; Used for lack of a better word as adventurer isn't a real thing in his world. The thing about the series' overarching story is that all of the Ys games are re-tellings of his adventures via journals that he left behind before he disappeared. Every game has its own plot and does not rely on others for context (besides ys 1 and 2). Adol has traveled the world in search of adventure, and there aren't many places he hasn't been.

Adol In Smash:

As far as smash goes, his main method of fighting would be his sword (don't worry, no counters) with a little bit of magic. The main difference is that while adol has used some spells that could be used as projectiles, his MP generally goes towards enhancing his melee attacks
. There are more skills and moves throughout the series of course, all of which could make up his move set.

Speed wise if we go by his recent games he would fall somewhere in the upper middle of the roster when it comes to walk, and run speed, while having a fairly short dash and equal air speed to his ground dash and his weight would be around Link's. If they use adol from the older games he would be a bit slower and heavier as he tends to wear heavy armor in those.
