So I want to replace S.M.I. with 3 different versions of Final Destination that have the same collisions, just with different textures.
I know this can be done, as I've already done it with Spear Pillar and haven't had any problems until now.
But with Shadow Moses I just can't get it to work, sometimes I'm able to play 5-10 matches with no problems on there, but after a few matches it begins to freeze as soon as I select the stage, leaving unplugging the console as the only option to turn it off.
And if I try to reboot and play again in that stage again it freezes on the first try.
I already placed the proper metalgear.rel file in the modules folder, converted from Final Destination to Shadow Moses Island. So I don't know what the problem might be.
Could you help me?

Your problem is probably that one of your .pac files isn't based on FD. Perhaps you forgot to replace one of the Shadow Moses Stages? Do any of your FD versions not get selected while you are playing?

Yeah, I renamed them STGMETALGEAR_00, STGMETALGEAR_01 and STGMETALGEAR_02 respectively
I already checked in Brawl Vault just to be sure and yes, all the FD's I'm using are based on FD.
Just to be sure it wasn't an specific version causing the problem I already replaced the 3 of them with other Final Destinations, and still have the same problem after a few matches. And yes, all 3 of them get selected and any can cause the problem.

My only other guess is that the file patch code occasionally has trouble finding your file and therefore tries to either load the original stage or the original .rel. This mismatch would cause the game to crash. Try defragging your SD card. If that doesn't work, format and reinstall.

I'm pretty sure I've tried formatting then copying the files back and still having the same problem, but I guess one more try won't hurt
What I don't understand is why that doesn't happen with Spear Pillar, just with Shadow Moses Island

Yeah it shouldn't be a problem, and you can even do it with STGMARIOPAST 1 and 2 (Metal Cavern in Project: M)

The only stages I wouldn't do this with is Lylat cruise and the Fire Emblem stage Castle Siege.

I can vouch and say I myself have 3 different FDs on Shadow Moses, but idk what else to tell you.

Oh, I forgot to say to remember to uncheck quick format (if you're on Windows).
And yeah, from the info you posted, I don't understand why it would be happening at all :/

Yeah I also have 2 different STGMARIOPAST 1/2 and no problem with those either.
It just happens with Shadow Moses Island, it this helps the FD's I'm trying to use are Heavenly Gold, Mars Destination and Blue Destination, all of them found in the textures thread and/or Brawl Vault

I'd suggest trying them each out individually (on a different stage slot of course) to see if you can find the problem stage. If that still doesn't fix the issue, then I don't think it's a stage problem

Have you been messing around with your GCT or character .rel files (or any other mod besides costumes/stages)?

I've tried it with a total of 7 different Final Destinations, using different combinations between them and getting the same result
And now that I remember, I uploaded my build to Mediafire and a friend of mine downloaded it, once we were in his house with his console and his SD card and still got the same result on that stage, so I don't think it's a problem of my SD

The only changes I've done to the GCT are cBliss, stage expansion and SSS Editor

I have one of those exact FDs on the Shadow Moses stage too, the Heavenly Gold stage to be exact. It's the one from Xeno, right?
I have the other two too, the afternoon orange FD, and the midnight moonlight blue stage.

I was wanting to change the Orange one to Mars destination.

I know it doesn't really help, but I've tried a stage hack or two or Moses island, and things get kind of wonky on me too. Something about that stage man.

I recently did what they suggested me a few posts ago, I formatted the SD card (not in the fast format way) and copied all the files back into it. I played a few matches on that stage, like 15-20 or something like that so I thought the problem was solved, and then it randomly froze out of a sudden.
I'm really out of ideas on how to fix this, I'm starting to think it's something about the stage itself

It's not. It's probably something with your build (conflicting codes or something) or possibly your brawl disc. Try testing it out on Vanilla PM (with the Shadow Moses stages replaced) and see if the problem still occurs.

Also, was this freeze in the middle of a match or was it while selecting the stage?

It could possibly be that somehow your music is corrupted for the stage. Test out all of the songs individually until they loop at least once, and then play on the stage on vBrawl for a few matches. If it freezes then you can make a new GCT with just the "My Music" reset code for Shadow Moses Island specifically.

The freeze occurs at the beginning of the match, when the characters are appearing.
I'll try with vP:M and see what happens.

How to I make a new GCT with the reset code?

BTW, thanks for your help guys.

With this bit of info, I'm pretty sure I know your problem. It's probably with the costumes of one (or more) of your characters. I ran into this issue when using the latest version of Brawl Costume Manager. For some reason it saved one of the result screen portraits to the file that is supposed to be used for battle portraits. The game tries to read the battle portrait, but instead sees a file it doesn't know how to handle (or is too big) and subsequently crashes. Test all of your costumes to see which one causes the crash. Once you find it, use an older version of the Costume manager to replace the file with an actual battle portrait.

Alternatively, go to the \projectm\pf\info\portrite directory (where the battle portraits are stored) and examine the files there. If one of them is bigger than 4KB, that file is most likely the problem. Figure out which character it corresponds to and replace it with the correct portrait.

Downgrading to an older version of the costume manager should prevent this issue from happening again (I use version 3.2)

I've thought of that too, because it had already happened to me once when I used a BP that was too big in a custom costume.
Because of that everytime I place a new costume in the build I immediately test it, so I can be sure that won't happen.
The thing is, I can play any number of matches in any other stage with random chars and nothing bad happens, all of them work pretty well. But when I choose the FD in Shadow Moses it always crashes, either on the first match of after a few.
It has also happened when playing against friends where everybody chooses their costume, all of them being functional in other stages.
Anyway, I'm gonna check the portraits files just to be sure

And yeah, I don't use the latest version of the manager, I use the one I downloaded in January or some date like that.

Yeah test stock 3.02 and then vBrawl. If the freezing is happening on default 3.02 P:M, it's your SD card. If it freezes on vBrawl, it's the disc. For the code, you can use Ocarina Code Manager to create a GCT. Use that GCT when loading P:M the way you normally would, only this time you'll be loading vBrawl. Then go to My Music and play all the songs for Shadow Moses Island at least once, play a match on it, let the game save, turn off the Wii and then load P:M and see if it still freezes.
