PLEASE KEEP THIS CIVIL. We will get nowhere if we get angry at each other and not concentrate on the problem. I personally don't believe Leffen should be getting this intensity of eat as he is getting. These are the problems that were stated, and I will say my response; then please calmly give your opinion.
1. Leffen treats new players poorly, demoralizing them. He tells new players straight to their face that they are terrible, he plays silly characters (low tiers) vs them while screaming how horrible he is with that character to make an idiot out of them, etc. Many people have said that they would've quit after their experience with Leffen if it wasn't for the other people saving their experience, and intentionally motivating them to stay and keep playing.
(He is not the only personal that treats new players poorly. Everything there has been done by other people that I know in my own region. Not saying names, but again, just ignore him if you don't want to talk to him. Also, how many people that like Leffen were talked to? I am a brand new player, and I talked to him and he seems like a fine dude, and initially treated me better than some other players have. You also don't know if he is upset when he says the thing he says. I know in this I didnt really go into detail, but I will explain more with replies.)
2. Leffen has spread lies about people, claiming they are known for lying and stealing when this in fact nonsense. He has implied that people who do not take illegal drugs do as such to destroy their image.
(I don't get this so much. Yes, this is bad, but how does this cause being banned from smash itself? This is a personal matter, not a community matter. Don't get close with him enough to say this. And don't believe rumors.)
3. He has constantly made fun of peoples diseases and disabilities, with no regard or sympathy for the people unfortunate enough to born with a condition, and using this to make them look like bad and/or incompetent people.
(Again, this is outside of smash. This is a moral problem, not a community problem. Why does he have to get kicked out for this? If there was a player in our community that disgraced against religion in a mean manner, do you ban him? Or do you just not partake in when he expresses his feelings on that subject?)
4. He has spread personal information about people and exaggerating these facts to make them look bad. He has also threatened to spread personal information whenever people go against him.
Many people have been afraid of speaking up against Leffens behavior because they do not want to be subject to this.
(Then do not give him personal information. If you can't talk to him, speak as a group with him, just like the "Leffen is banned!" thread, only I wouldnt have put it so publicly, and not as threatening.)
5. Leffen has always displayed extremely poor sportsmanship. He complains loudly when/as he's losing, makes excuses, is extremely mean to his teammates when they make mistakes.
(What does this have to do with anything? I know tons of people who john or get frustated. You choose to team with him as well, dont team with him if you risk that. These are your choices to not be with him)
6. Leffen constantly talks about other people in a negative light, causing unnecessary drama. Many old school smashers think that the scene has become more about drama since Leffen joined. This obviously hurts the scene and many new players quit shortly after introducing themselves.
(I'd say just ban him from the boards. Or give him a 1 year ban or something. Again just dont talk to him if you don't want to risk this happening)
7. He has bullied people in real life in both subtle and not-so-subtle ways. He freezes people out of conversations through ignoring them, standing in the way, talking over them and putting words in their mouth, and so forth.
He will comment on every single mistake a certain person would do, loudly making fun of them in a mean manner. He has also made fun of this persons hearing disabilities.
He has intentionally disturbed this person in tournament, sitting right next to him and making noises in his ear, in a match with no crowd or hype.
(Ban him from the venue if you see him doing it, but bullying happens EVERYWHERE. If this is what is considered bullying, I could name a ton of instances where this happened. )
8. He has excluded people from smashfests and trips through manipulation and misrepresentation of other people. (Would you not exclude leffen from smashfests because you don't like him? Thats what he is doing. He has a right to not let people join him in things, its his place.)
