Abilities in XD

Curious question. We all know that Emerald introduced the fact that pokemon abilities had added effects, most of which happened out of battle (IE, Static attracting more wild Electric Type pokemon).

What I wanted to know is if this actually carried over into XD as well, mainly in the form of a Pokemon having Synchronize causing the other pokemon it's battling to become the same nature as itself. Anyone know?
