Abdominal Pain

For a few weeks, I've been having pain about an inch to the right (my left) of my belly button. It isn't present most of the time, but it occurs every once in a while. Anyone have any idea what this might be? I'm hoping it's not appendicitis. I'll probably notify my parents later tonight.

"The pain of appendicitis may start as generalized pain, but it often moves (localizes) to one area of the abdomen."

Sounds about right.

Pain from appendicitis doesn't usually come and go over several weeks, it begins and intensifies over the course of hours. Of course, I don't know if there are exceptions or special circumstances.

What I do know is that abdominal pain is a symptom of dozens or hundreds of conditions. There's no way a bunch of non-doctors can help you over the internet. You should see a professional.

That is a symptom of various of medical diagnosis's it is too vague. See a professional doctor. Though, I highly doubt it is appendictis because it would feel worse everyday, at least that is what my friend tells me.

That's more or less what I expected to hear. If what you and Mazaloth say is true, and it isn't appendicitis, then I'm somewhat relieved. I'm going to see a doctor tomorrow.

When things start hurting I usually give it a few punches, if in 24 hours the pain is still there, I recommend a doctor.

4 hours, a CAT scan, X-rays, a blood test, and a urine test later, the results: . . .they don't know. All they know is it's not an emergency.

I dislike getting this answer anytime I happen to go to the doctor. "There is no cure for this." or "There is nothing we can do."

Of coarse, I understand if the problem can't be helped, but getting those answers just doesn't relieve or put anyone at ease.

I understand how you feel, Overload.

I think eating solid food has something to do with it. I'm going to not eat so much for a few days and see how that goes.
