I made a mistake, this is not a thread, it's a blog post. The cringe is still real, as a guy resorts to insults and lack of knowledge to try and assert his opinions on tier lists as fact. (The guy also appears to be a hypocrite, stating Tier lists are nothing more than outlets for losers to waste hours of their lives flamebaiting people on the internet, and yet he spent several hours making this blog post to clearly insult all the pro-tier people (hell, the name of the blog is "Tier Lists are a Manifestation Of a Mental Disease." Take from that what you will)

Down on the corner, out in the street.
Funny thing, this guy pretty much sums up tier lists entirely with:

If a tier list for a particular game could ever be useful, it could only be useful for people of one specific skill level.
That IS why they're useful, to gauge what characters are the best if they were played consistently by peek human players with equal skill. If character A and B are being played by two people who are equal in skill, and said skill is the best amongst the best in the world, and character A beat out character B, then that would simply mean A has better tools for beating character B.

Also, the point he tries to make with supercomputers is ridiculous and rendered moot based on the fact that no one that plays at a high level will begin to seriously bother playing against that kind of opponent. Again, people at high levels play against other people and form tier lists based on PLAYERS against other PLAYERS with the same skill level, not supercomputers, and even if we decided to not ignore the whole supercomputers point, we can still create matchups based on matches played by the computers because there is no way that matches would end in a draw EVERY time.

Heck, not all tier list are inherently wrong in their entirety either, take Roflmongers DBFZ tier list for example. Most of the problems people have with his tier list are the placements of Nappa, Kid Buu and maybe Cell/Android 16.

And while I'm at it:

A supposedly low tier character can dance around a million fire-balls all day and never, ever get hit.
Try that on my MvC2 Cable vs Servbot, 3S Makoto vs Q, BBCP Tager vs Carl, Mike Ross vs 4th Place, James Chen vs Saying Cammy is top tier, Mr.Wiz vs McRibs, etc- with a friendly reminder that almost every fighting game has chip damage of some kind, so the 'exceptions' he talks about are more so the norm, and his non-existent examples are in fact the exceptions.

/end incoherent rambling
