A Theory: Perhaps every newcomer will have a new stage with them.

Do you believe that each & every newcomer in Smash 4 will have a stage mainly associated with them?

So, let's get this settled. I believe that for every newcomer included in Smash 4, they will have a new stage representing their series.

First, there's the Villager. :4villager: He comes with the stage Town and City on Wii U, and Tortimer Island on 3DS.

Next is Mega Man. :4megaman: His stage on Wii U is Wily Castle.

Then there's Wii Fit Trainer. :4wiifit: Her stage on Wii U is the Wii Fit Studio.

Up next is Rosalina and Luma. :rosalina: She technically gets to share the new Mario stages with the other Mario characters, but what can be called her "home stage" is the Mario Galaxy stage.

Little Mac is revealed later.:4littlemac:He gets the Boxing Ring, which not only appears in both the Wii U and 3DS versions of Smash 4, but is shared with the Smash universe thanks to a different look.

Finally, our most recent newcomer comes in the form of Greninja. :substitute: Wait, that's not it.:4greninja:There we go. Both new Pokémon stages revealed so far (Wii U's Kalos Pokémon League and 3DS's Prism Tower) come from the X and Y games, where Greninja debuted.

As I have demonstrated, each newcomer in Smash 4 gets a stage associated with them, even if they are part of a veteran universe (as is the case with Rosalina and Greninja.) I wanted to make this thread to point out this trend to others, so that stage reveals can be a bit more exciting and to open up speculation about potential new stages as well as characters. Personally, I think we can expect a lot of new stages from both veteran and newcomer universes, which is an exciting prospect.

So, what do you guys think? Is this an interesting and sound theory? Is there something you wish to disagree with? Do you think I suck and want to tell me how bad I am with making threads? Please, let's speculate on the idea of newcomer character+stage combos, yes? I've even added a poll, though I hope people can discuss their beliefs in a civil manner that won't lead to digressions.

I do wish there are more 3DS stages to support this, though. :(

Basically what happened in Brawl (only newcomer who didn't have their own stage was ROB and maybe D3 if you don't count Halberd) so I don't see why the trend wouldn't continue with Smash 4.

R.O.B stage in Brawl is Mario Bros., the Gyromite theme plays here. So... Palutena's Temple = Palutena confirmed.

It'd be interesting, but most likely the new stages are revealed for more hype along with the character reveal.

If the Mii gets in, would PilotWings be their stage?

Yep, he has already got a stage in the 3DS version as well.

And I agree that most character will get one but not all, especally characters from a series with multiple newcomers (akin to Dedede) and late development addition from a series with a rep already (Wolf, That Star Fox stage would have been there even if Wolf was here or not)

Now as for confirmed stages that potentially hint at newcomers.

Skyworld, Reset bomb forrest - Palutena
Arena Ferox - Chrom
Tomadachi Life, Miiverse Quest, Pilotwings - Mii
Balloon Fight - R.O.B. (see Mario Bros, and yes I know his a veteran but I want everyone to know this theory and get it in their head that R.O.B. isn't getting cut)
Pyrosphere - Maybe maybe Ridley. Its hard to say but I'm very confident that if he is not playable, he will be a boss in the 3DS version in another stage.
Rainbow Road - Probably not mentioned in OP becasue it was revealed after her announcement but this almost certainly a stage for Rosalina.

I can see this be the case. It's odd how we haven't seen a new Donkey Kong and Kirby stage yet, only past stages.
I also see the Pilotwings stage belong to the Mii as well as Palutena's Temple to coincide with... Palutena. With newcomers from new series, I don't expect their stages to get revealed before the actual character. For example, I can't see us get a Xenoblade stage before Shulk gets confirmed. (Little Mac is a special case)

Could king k rool get the boxing ring was well since yesterdays potd has the reference from dk64 king k rool fight on diddy kong and lanky kongs sections of it

As for R.O.B you think the balloon fighter stage is going to be his just like mario bros stage ok that make sense

Ps R.O.B will be a no brainer if that mario bros stage comes back because it will probably get the song again

I really don't think K. Rool has any connection the Boxing Ring stage, especially with Little Mac's confirmed appearance.

It's not like K. Rool has only dressed as a boxer. He's also been a scientist, and pirate, and a king (duh.)

I really want to K. Rool in as much as anybody, but a boxing ring isn't the best stage debut for him. The best stage?

Gang Plank Galleon; the first time you meet him in-game. Of course, revealing this stage beforehand would light up all the obvious lights towards his appearance, meaning it would only appear alongside K. Rool's reveal.

I agree that ROB has a pretty good chance of returning, but we need to keep in mind that just because a stage or music track was revealed doesn't mean that the related character is a shoe-in. Brawl had two songs that had strong ties to Melee veterans - Dr. Mario had Fever and Roy had Winning Road (Roy's Hope), but neither showed up in the game. There are also a few stages that were added whose related character wasn't there, Smashville being the prime example.

Of course, I'm not denying that every newcomer so far seems to get a new stage, and that some of these could very well be harbingers of their reveals. I just want to make sure we don't get too excited because it's entirely possible that some of the stages will have no characters connected.

Mii basically has three stages so I'm very curious about their fate.

If you recall both Roy and Dr. Mario were INTENDED for Brawl, alongside Mewtwo, Toon Zelda, Toon Sheik, and "Pra-Mai". It makes sense their themes are in.

Sounds possible. We must remember that not every stage had a rep in brawl though.
Yeh, but concerning Brawl's stages, there were only 2 stages that had no reps, (Hanenbow and Pictochat). They were very obscure to have any sort of character rep. for them. The rest of the stages had at least one viable rep.

For SSB4, the only obscure stages that likely have no playable reps are Balloon Fight and the Living Room (Nintendogs). Hopefully that stops there, and the rest of the unrevealed stages belong are home to a playable character.

We also had Smashville which didn't have a rep in brawl.

Pilot Wings, Find Mii, and the Tomodachi Life stage. Maybe Wii Fit Studio counts.
Damn, now that I think about it the Mii would have 4 stages if another one is shown with his announcement, if he is announced.

For every character there's always been at least 1 'home stage' for them so it make sense for characters like Wii fit trainer, Megaman, and Little Mac to have a home stage to fight in since they come from new titles ... However there have been stages with no 'home character' such as Smashvile, PictoChat and Hanenbow. So your theory is flawed.

Sorry.

That wasn't his statement though, he just said every newcomer will have a stage, not every stage will have a newcomer.

I'd like to thank you for clarifying that. Yeah, I meant that for every newcomer we'd get a new stage, not that every stage would have a playable rep to go with them.

On the topic of home stages, I agree that every franchise should have a stage to call home. Since Rosalina is considered part of the Mario universe, I figured she not only got Mario Galaxy as a "home stage," but was privileged to share the other Mario stages with the other Mario characters. The same principle applies to Greninja and the other Pokémon characters.

Maybe, but it's too soon to tell. EarthBound and F-Zero lacked stages in the first game; Fire Emblem lacked a stage in Melee; and R.O.B. lacked one in Brawl. Those were all universes with their main characters hidden. So, if there are newcomers without a themed stage, we probably won't know until release.

I figured I'd bump this just to add the newcomers from E3.

Okay, so the Mii. :4mii: I have no idea what's going on with this one or how to classify Mii Fighter as a character, it's just such a unique type so I'll take a look at our stage list. Looking at the revealed stages so far, I've picked out three stages representing universes where Miis are heavily featured or contain locales from a game starring Miis.

On the Wii U, we have Pilotwings. The stage obviously represents Pilotwings most, but it's mostly based off of Pilotwings Resort and the airplane mode from Wii Sports Resort, both games exclusively featuring Miis as playable characters.

The 3DS game has Find Mii, a stage representing the two Find Mii games on 3DS, and the unnamed Tomodachi Life stage. The second stage's layout is unknown, as we only have one picture of it so far.

Miis certainly have a lot of room to fight in, but other newcomer Palutena will not be out done. :4palutena:Palutena is our 2nd Kid Icarus representative, so one can say she shares a "home stage" with Pit. On the Wii U we have Palutena's Temple, a massive stage rivaling SSBM's Melee and SSBB's New Pork City in size. This stage can represent the Kid Icarus series as a whole. The 3DS has the Reset Bomb Forest, which is a location from Kid Icarus: Uprising. It should be noted that this stage changes after a certain event occurs.

Finally, a 3rd-party representative many people expected and wanted. :4pacman: Bandai Namco's very own Pac-Man shows up for the first time in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. He intends on outdoing the other guest fighters in premiering a home stage for both versions of the game. The Wii U will have an unusual stage based on Pac Land, and the 3DS will feature a stage heavily inspired by the original arcade game many people are familiar with.

"So what is the point of all of this, Captain Rage Quit," you've probably never asked. Well, I've already explained my intent in the OP. Speculation about new stages for newcomer and veteran universes was always the more exciting thing for me, as I've always mained Mario characters anyway (and Sheik.) Well, does anyone have anything to add regarding this?

It would be awesome if every newcomer had their own stage, even if they share it with other characters from their franchise. I loved Wind Waker so it'd be cool of either Pirate Ship returns or Toon Link gets a Wind Waker themed stage once again. But, he's not a newcomer, so, off topic. I hope the trend continues, though.
