Tired of waiting for E3 to finally come? Looking for a fun, silly game to play? Then you've come to the right place!

The rules are simple. I will post a couple of topics each week. You guys have to make a SSB64-sized roster that fits the topic!
For example: if the topic is 'video game villains', you must pick the most iconic and important baddies of game history. You need a minimum of 8 characters, with 4-6 additional unlockable fighters. Simply post a list with each fighter and a short explanation as to why they each deserve that spot. Feel free to include playstyles and other info too: spicing up your post really draws in the votes!
The most fun and crazy part is, of course, the topics. They will range from cereal mascots to world leaders, so you should really go wild with this!

This game is supposed to be fast-paced, so the topics will cycle each week. There will be two topics for each round, one for fictional characters and the other for real people. Judging will be simply done by liking posts - just drop a like on any roster that you think did the topic well. At the end of the week, there will be a final call for last-minute likes, and then they will all be counted up and the winners will be archived in this post. Note: Please try to be sparing with your likes. We want this to be an actual contest, not just a like-fest! Only like posts you truly want to win.

THIS WEEK'S TOPICS:
MUSICAL ARTISTS & HORROR MOVIES
>For our first real-life people topic, MUSICAL ARTISTS, you must bring together a roster of the greatest musicians who've ever lived! Note that this is for musical artists, preferably recorded artists, so classical composers won't be accepted (at least not for this round). For a general guideline, choose artists from at least the 20th century (1900 and onward). Try to take popularity, sales, and legacy into account. Also try to represent a variety of genres.
>For the first fictional characters topic, HORROR MOVIES, create a roster of the most feared horror movie characters of all time! Try to stick to villains and monsters as opposed to the protagonists of the movies. Try to take the characters' popularity and the success/legacy of their movie into account. Try to incorporate both the old and the new.

Remember, you can enter either one or both. If you plan on entering both, please keep them in separate posts (but don't double post). Additionally, please put something in the post signifying which topic you are doing.

If you truly believe them to be one of the greatest musical artists of all time, then yes. But bear in mind, this person will be up against the likes of Elvis Presley, John Lennon, and Michael Jackson, so be careful with your choices!

To get things started, I'll post my entry to the Musical Artist category.

[collapse=The Roster]
John Lennon
You can't talk about musical history without mentioning The Beatles. Who better to rep the most popular band in the world than their lead singer, John Lennon? I can't imagine a roster without him.

Elvis Presley
In a roster of the most popular and legendary musicians, the King of Rock is a blue suede shoe-in. Elvis Presley is one of the most well-regard singers of all time, and that's all right.

Michael Jackson
He's got style, moves, a legendary voice - he definitely deserves to be crowned 'King of Pop'. This dancing machine definitely deserves his spot on this roster.

Madonna
If Jackson is the King of Pop, Madonna is definitely the Queen. It's no secret that she should be in this roster.

Jimmy Page
Led Zeppelin have been climbing the stairway to success for the past 40 years, so their leader Jimmy Page is a definite contender!

Elton John
Goodbye yellow brick road, hello super smash bros! Elton John is one of the most commercially successful singer/songwriters of all time, and his piano skills are legendary.

Freddie Mercury
Freddie Mercury is a legendary musician in every way imaginable. With a voice of gold and a huge stage presence, Freddie will surely become a champion.

Mick Jagger
The Rolling Stones are widely considered one of the greatest rock bands of all time. I can get some real satisfaction from including Mick on this roster.

Bob Marley (Unlockable)
The greatest reggae singer of all time, Bob Marley, is ready to jump into the fray. This buffalo soldier is certainly a solid choice for this roster.

Bruce Springsteen (Unlockable)
Springsteen is almost synonymous with roots rock. It goes without saying that The Boss himself deserves to be on this roster.

Frank Sinatra (Unlockable)
Considered the greatest swing singer of all time, Frank Sinatra is very deserving of a spot on this roster. Ol' blue eyes is back, and is ready to fight!

Whitney Houston (Unlockable)
Whitney Houston was possibly the greatest R&B singer of the modern age. She's got soul, so this roster would have nothing without her.

Koji Kondo, David Wise, Jun Senoue and Mahito Yokota are up there. Also, moar Rolling Stones reps :v I also think Mozart, Bach, Tchaikovsky could be the Mr. Game & Watch of the musical roster, but eh.

Just villains? Bah. I so desperately wanted Ash Williams. 13 slots, the unlucky number. The announcer is an Alfred Hitchock soundalike, drolling on midmatch with sarcastic and witty commentary. There are numerous horror films represented only through stages and items - Jaws is one of these, with the titular shark appearing as a hazard in an Amity Island stage (taking place on Quint's boat) and the explosive barrels appearing as an item.

FREDDY KRUEGER
The Big Bad of Nightmare on Elm Street. Visually distinct and iconic, it's no wonder he makes it in. Has a spacing/elements style playstyle, ala Zelda.

JASON VOORHEES
The other half of the Freddy vs Jason duo - the main antagonist of Friday the 13th. Plays like a demented Little Mac/Bowser combination, having superarmor and heavy attacks but dropping like a rock in the air.

SADAKO
The villainess of The Ring. Assumes a speedster role in the game, having devastating close range attacks with plenty of approach options.

JIGSAW
The main villain of Saw. He's never fought in the original series and that's continued here - he's an extreme Snake, having traps on almost all of his inputs but excelling at trapping and zoning if he's allowed to work. He also serves as the main villain in the game's storyline, trapping all the horror movie villains in a large mechanical maze where they're forced to shed each other's blood. Each character has their own storyline where they're assumed to be the winner, rather than having them all share a storyline.

JACK TORRANCE
The Shining's villain, as played by Jack Nicholson. He serves a spacing role, with disjointed axe attacks and waves of ghostly blood that aid him. His moveset can be found here.

HANNIBAL LECTER
Silence of the Lambs. A spindly, tricky foe. He excels at devious mindgames, making the foe question their actions and consistently faking them out with ease.

NORMAN BATES
The villain from perhaps the first contemporary and most iconic horror film, Psycho. Excellent at exploiting weakpoints at his foe with a knife, also adept at shieldbreaking. Comes with a Mother alt costume!

PENNYWISE
Stephen King's IT - the first horror movie for me and many other's. The hardest character to master in the game with bloody balloons and invisiblity, but being absolutely deadly if used right. Moveset can be found here.

ZOMBIE (Romero)
Affectionately named Romero, this is a rather generic zombie - lumbering and hobbling about as you expect. The "tricky" character of this game.

The unlockable characters all hail from Universal horror films - while they're not black and white, their stages have a black and white filter that renders all characters in it black and white (similar to how Flat Zone makes all characters flat).

THE INVISIBLE MAN
Main character of the self-titled film. Has a much more reliable invisibility than Pennywise, but produces less damage to compensate.

THE COUNT
Dracula as played by Bela Lugosi. A devastating combo character with a thirst for blood, using large cape and fang attacks for range.

THE WOLF MAN
A furious, hungry beast of a man - he has speed and power to match, if you let him approach...you're a goner.

THE MONSTER
Frankenstein's, to be exact. He's an unstoppable tank character (Doomsday in Injustice), with a large amount of power to back his attacks.

The Bongos, some might say that they're so simple that a monkey could play them...and they'd be right!
Donkey and Diddy are probably most known for incorporating the Bongos into popular anime theme songs.

K.K. Slider (Animal Crossing)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cr2qJKFTV7M
Wielding his trusty acoustic guitar, K.K. can strum out a tune from any genre.
His robotic voice and good looks win him all the ladies.

Link(Legend of Zelda)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-z_9_nVDA0c
The hero of time has had many incarnations, some more musically talented than others, specializing in wind instruments. Along with his popular Ocarina and Panflute, Link has brought a plethora of instruments like the Harmonica and Kazoo

Sebastian Tute(Wii Music)
This conductor is more than just some posh baton waver, he can also play every instrument known to man.
Rumored to have taught one of Link's incarnations to conduct the winds themselves, this newcomer shouldn't be taken lightly

Barbara (Daigasso! Band Brothers)
Somewhat of an enigma in the west,
it would probably be better to let the shredding of her electric guitar speak for itself.

Jigglypuff (Pokémon)
The one hit wonder, Jigglypuff, returns! Known for the hit single, "Jigglypuff", a haunting lullaby that can make the toughest man fall asleep. Make sure that you don't nod off during a performance!

Shigeru Miyamoto
Worshipped in some places as a god, he's at the heart of the indie blugrass/folk music scene in the east.
His banjo is a force to be reckoned with.

Very good roster! I like how you incorporated distinct playstyles that fit each character well. Including a generic zombie was also a clever idea.
Your stage idea and also your story mode concept really bring it all together. Good work.

This is an interesting take on the topic, but unfortunately it isn't what I am looking for in this particular category. This contest isn't limited to video game characters, in fact, the Musical Artist topic in particular is specifically intended for real people only.
Feel free to edit your post to create a roster that better fits into the category. If you want to keep this roster posted, that's perfectly fine, just bear in mind that it will not be counted for points by the end of this week.

Jaws will be the new Ridley, Jaws fans feeling insulted that he's a stage hazard, even though Ridley could work and Jaws couldn't...
Take note that my rosters will be done considering that this 'game' will be the fourth game on the series, so there's room for both 'legends' and new stars that have got notoriously popular or memorable.
[collapse=Horror Movies]Freddy Krueger
From Nightmare on Elm Street, Fraddy haunts the competition's dreams! He's obviously a rushdown character, think Greninja with claws.

Jason Vorhees
The powerhouse from Friday The 13th comes smashing through his opponents! Jason's a brutal, slow character like Bowser.

Samara/Sadako
The creepy girl from The Ring emerges towards the competition! She's a magic-based character with decent range.

Hannibal Lecter
Although Anthony Hopkins pales as Hannibal when you compare him to Mads Mikkelsen, he was still memorable, so Hannibal gobbles up the fight!

Young Hannibal
Gaspard Ulliel as Young Hannibal, he's a Luigified Hannibal Lecter with a bigger focus on a more violent, uncontrolled playstyle, an unrefined psychopath!

Norman Bates
He's kind of Mario for this! One of the first and the most recognizable horror movie villains ever.

Leatherface
Time to massacre the competition! He focuses on grappling and doing continuous damage with the chainsaw.

Pennywise
Another extremely memorable horror movie villain, also, clowns are always a good thing for fighting games! He has a wacky moveset with disjointed hitboxes.

Jigsaw/Billy
Let's play a game! He's a new kind of character, mostly using traps and mechanical attacks that keep him out of harm's way...he's a little like what Dr. Eggman would play like! Oh...and his grabbing game's specially gruesome and fearsome.

Wolf Man
Don't need to explain much, he's the wolfman, he's a man, a wolf and his attacks are fierce and quick, not to mention powerful, although he's kinda easy to launch. The design would be the one from the 2010 remake, since it's memorable, fresh and recognizable as the real Werewolf character!

- Unlockables -

Dracula
A mix between a Castlevania-looking Dracula and the original Bela Lugosi adaptation, cheesy enough and scary enough, the king of monsters himself!

Alien/Xenomorph
A really threatening character with acid spit projectiles and deadly approach options...good thing there's no Predators around!

The Pale Man
Since the Faun's kinda the good guy, The Pale Man reps the Pan's Labyrinth, focusing on stun-moves and paralization on his moveset.

THE BIRDEMIC!
An odd character, the Birdemic's actually a 'cloud' of birds that act like a hivemind, they can divebomb towards enemies, exploding, other attacks also have Bird Acid and Eagle Slicing.[/collapse]

This is a solid roster!
I must say that your Birdemic idea is hilarious.

By the way, I encourage you guys to comment on each others rosters! Let's have fun here!
