I sure hope this question has not been asked, and I am sorry if it has. Most of you all are "pros" which i consider a person able to wavedash and Shffl or what not. Do you think brawl will enable the player to use such tactics? I have been reading up and watching video and trying to learn these tactics, but there is no point if they wont be in brawl. I know you can use the GC controler, but hopefully for me it will be straight up battles :p

Dunno, we won't know either until the game comes out. However, there is a picture that looks like Mario is doing a 1 footed wavedash (not sure which picture it was though). If you do learn them now and they're not in Brawl, it helps you out now and you can forget about them. If it is in Brawl, you got a headstart.

Besides the point, to be good you don't NEED advanced techniques, I mean sure it'll help, but I bet it's possible to be "pro" without wavedashing all over the place.

Since your new, I won't flame ya. Yes, these tactics and such are useful, but we don't know if they will be in Brawl, with them being considered "glitches." These have been asked thousands of times, so try to post in other threads.

Welcome to Smashboards my friend. You will learn very valuable things for the Smash series here.

The engine of the games are going to be the same.

ShortHopping exists in both games.
FastFalling exists in both games.
Lcancel exists in both games.

SHFFL

Three basic disciplines combine create this approach tactic. Very easy to learn. Very useful when implemented.

Air dodge was a new addition to Melee.

Wavedashing was a new technique enabled by the physics of the game.

Again, this is a very easy technique to do, but requires more thought into how it is implemented affectively. It is not required to win against anybody. It helps the game of those whose play style complements it.

You can be rest assured the techniques not mentioned will be present and mostly likely newer ones will be discovered because of the addition of the 'crawl'.

The only thing that stops you from becomng better my friend, is yourself. Time and dedication is what you need.

You can only master these techniques, if you want to.

And also that is why this community is here, to help you and to help ourselves progress at this game. Don't be shy to post any questions.

We don't know about wether any of those techniques are in brawl, and there's already been topics on it.
