A question about newcomer trailers, and the trailers being on the game.

I know that it has been stated that all of the newcomer trailers are going to be available on the game as soon as it is released.

My question is... do you think every newcomer is going to have a trailer, even if they were hidden and not revealed during a direct? Would you want some kind of trailer to play for hidden newcomers when the "Challenger Approaching!" screen appears?

Just because I like the trailers so much, I'm kind of hoping that even hidden newcomers will have one. If not, then it's no big loss.

Except with how cool they are. D:

Then again... Sakurai hates hidden stuff being leaked after the game releases, so maybe not... thoughts on this?

It'd be awesome if for example, when unlocking Rosalina, the Rosalina trailer starts and goes until the part when her character-caption appears and there's a close-up of her eyes, and then you battle her on Rainbow Road 64, that'd be awesome, although Megaman's and Greninja's trailers are very nondescript with the location, it'd be awesome to have those trailers before unlocking the newcomers.

I'd say you'd have to cut out some parts of those trailers, such as the race between Mario and DK in the Rosalina trailer, olr the Mario vs Charizard fight in the Greninja trailer. Just cut to the part with the character and that would be good enough.

I'm mainly wondering if all newcomer trailers will be available right off the bat, including hidden characters. (I mean... not everyone spoils themselves by looking up spoilers, so if the hidden newcomers trailers were already available.)

Maybe I should just assume that their trailers will unlock with the character, even if they didn't have a direct... or just assume that they don't have one.

I think that'd be great! I really hope they do that. Just imagine like you're playing Classic Mode, you defeat Master Hand, credits scroll by, when that firey Smash logo appears and you start watching a trailer for a hidden newcomer, and then you have to fight them to unlock them! Of course, challenger approaching is always a classic and it's awesome cause it just thrusts you into the action and you're like "what the hell, who is this guy, what are his moves, what am I doing," but the trailers would be an interesting way of properly introducing the newcomer.

It's certainly possible- Like Wolf, Jiggs & Toon Link had when you found them in the SSE. Trailers just for them, not shared by anyone else.

The challenger approaching screen is good enough for me, you get a silhouette of the character and might not be entirely sure who it is until the round starts, then you have to stop being shocked so that you can actually beat them in a fight, even though you don't know their moves or anything. That's usually enough excitement for me, a cutscene before the fight sort of ruins that effect, IMO

I think a cutscene feels way more spectacular.

If anything, it will be included in like a Movie section. Especially for the newcomers who are starters.

Brawl had a movie section with trailers, the how to play movie and SSE cutscenes. Sakurai has said that the newcomer movies would be available to watch on the game itself, so it's going to be pretty much the same thing as Brawl: there will likely be a movie section with those trailers, an how to play movie and maybe some extras.
