When you are hit by an attack, and you are out of freeze frames, does pressing the control stick in the desired direction still effect your trajectory?

In short, is DI only actually effective inside freezeframes, or do you still have to press the control stick in hitstun/while flying?

The moment you get out of hitlag freeze is when the game checks what direction you're holding; anytime before or after doesn't affect your trajectory.

For all intents and purposes, you just have to be holding the direction beforehand, up until after the point you start flying.
