A problem with Twilight Princess

I have this problem at the point where you're supposed to teleport that giant cannon to get to the next dungeon. Now I am supposed to talk to that guy that comes in with you to get him to leave and that's where my problem starts. I save it and turned it off before getting him to leave so I can get to sleep. When I loaded it I saw that the guy want there anymore so I tried to teleport the cannon but its said that I couldn't since he was still watching but he is no longer there so I can't talk to him to get him to leave. I tried leaving myself but I get interrupted by that guy and it makes me go back. So I am now stuck there with no way to continue the game. I have tried warping but that didn't work and killing myself then restarting but that didn't work. Has this happened to anyone else and if so how do you fix it I don't want to have to start over.

you pretty much have to restart.

It's like everyone else says, it's a dumb glitch that forces you to restart the game...

Mine did that in my Gamecube version and I had to use my AR to find my way around it.

wow im glad that nvr happened to me on the wii version is this for the gamecube?

Obviously that will take much, much longer than just restarting and getting back to that point. They're not gonna look into it till 3 months after.

He's at the part where you move the owl statue blocking the cannon (the one you teleport to lake hylia). I think that's where he is...
