different people will react to this differently, so I'll describe it in the most objective way possible.
in the original Japanese version of Mother 3, Masked Man was referred to as "Masked Boy", however, when the English fan translation was made, he was renamed to "Masked Man" (presumably to make a certain twist less obvious). this means Masked Man is not an official name. however, Ultimate's spirit of Masked Man uses the "Man" name
it's not a big deal to me, through I do find it interesting, but I know it could be a problem for some people.
