A new stage for Ice Climbers? - Icicle Summit

They are now confirmed to be returning, so how about their stage? Icicle Mountain could simple come back as a past stage, but where's the justice in that?

Also, their game was all pretty much about going up and up and up, and then fighting a bird to get a vegetable.




Also, Pokemon Stadium 2 already becomes an Ice-type stage, so can there be more stages with slippery surfaces?

It'd be interesting if their Brawl stage takes place at the top of their mountain, an afterthought from Melee, where a blizzard affects movement similar to Whispy Woods.

Thoughts?

Sigh... Theres going to be too many scolling stages in this game

They probably will give it a slippery surface on some platforms but not all

ok i see what your saying but maybe they can make a stage where to start at seea level and as you go to the right the high you go like it scrolls to the right (left) so it seem like youre going up a mountain what do you think?

I like this idea, i always wanted the Ice Climbers' level to be more true to their game, as it was for one of the minigames you needed to do this kind of level so it's definitely possible. Either it should be still with some definite platforms and breakable bricks or it should be up-scrolling, but it only scrolls when every character on the stage is on the platform one brick row above the of the screen.

Maybe it can be more snowy than Icy, but who said they needed a stage? I know it's tradition but com'on certain characters don't deserve a stage and Icicle mountain was just horrible. Of course if the stage took place on the summit than no complaints.

I really like the idea of Icicle Summit though. That way, the stage wouldn't have to move, and we could see the birdy up top (a very possible element in the stage). Also, the blizzard idea would make it even better.

Also, will they only get one stage since there is only one character from their game? (like G&W)

So do singular game characters get only one stage?

Lol, wtf? Scrolling stages are Icicle Mountain-esque stages, those you named aren't scrolling stages at all. Except Rumble Falls.

A lot a people would define scrolling stages as ones that aren't static. None of those stages are static.

We'll probably see a stage similar to Melee. Although, since Ice Climbers were picked to represent Retro Nintendo, what about a stage that mixes all kinds of NES games together? That would be interesting.

WTF?

Only Rumble Falls and Icicle Mountain are scrolling out of those....

Delfino Plaza and the Halberd just move you around on a platform, no keeping up with the stage required....

Castle Siege just changes where you are every few minutes....

And if WarioWare's considered scrolling, then so is Pokemon Stadium 2....

Exactly, Rumble Falls is the only scrolling stage confirmed so far to me.

First of all, you don't know that for sure. My assumption is that you have to jump onto the platform before it takes off.

Castle Siege just changes where you are every few minutes....

And if WarioWare's considered scrolling, then so is Pokemon Stadium 2....

Ok, maybe I'm generalizing the "moving stage" idea a little. Either way, it doesn't matter, because there's an obvious difference between the ones I listed and ones that don't change shape.

I think that if there is a new stage, it will take place at the very top of the mountain, at the peak, with the teradactyl flying around acting as something that gices damage. There are 5 platforms, one for the peak, 3 underneath, and one more falt one on the bottom, and avalanches and snowballs could act as interference, but there is visual warning, so the stage could be torunament worthy.

I kind of hope Sakurai just gets creative and makes a stage that isn't... exactly... from the game. Like, it should just be on a Icy/Rocky terrain that looks mountainous. No, scrolling, no retro look. Just something cool. Oh, updated Topis and condors would be cool.

Oh, how I hope that the Ice Climbers get a stage that's worth playing! Infinite Glacier really was a pain in the backside, and I hate to see wasted material added to a game. Here's hoping that the vertical DK stage is at least somewhat playable...

The new Ice Climber stage looks great to me but why is the fish from baloon fighter there? It's cool it is there but that big bird-like thing from Ice Climber would have been better IMO

Is that what the fish is from? I've never played Baloon Fighter...

I approve of this stage.

Ice Climbers finally get a decent stage that doesn't look to be as annoying as Icicle Mountain or whatever it was called.

Gameplay will match for sure.

As for the stage, I am excited that the Ice Climbers get a cool looking stage that most people can play on. Also, the Fish is a nice touch, IMO.
