Rundus should get in. He's humanoid, he's awesome, and otehr than the Ice Climbers, there is no Ice Characters. I even made a Move Set For Him.

RUNDUS

B: Ice Beam. You hold the button down, but instead of charging, more Ice Beams shoot out. They stay in place and float around Rundus, until you let go of the button. Then they all launch forward, with slight homing powers. You can have up to six beams. Each does 7% damage, with a 2% chance of freezing the target. Low knockback.

B>: Ice Missile. This attack is unique, because once it hits its target, it pushes them back with the missile for a short ways. If it pushes one character into another, the two characters will be stuck together. You have to keep hitting buttons to get out. If one person gets out, they other stays frozen till they get out. 10% damage, 5% chance of not getting frozen. Medium knockback, not counting pushing the character back.

Bv: Freeze Spikes. Rundus punches the ground, sending icy spikes shooting up around him. All foes that get hit will be stunned for a moment. 8% damage. Medium Knockback.

B^: Ice slider. Rundus makes a path of ice below his feet and pushes himself up. It lasts for about 2 seconds. 9% damage, medium knockback. 1% chance of getting frozen.

FINAL SMASH: Hyper Mode. Rundus freezes the entire arena, making everyone on the ground stuck to it. They can;t move at all. For all of the people that aren't on the ground, they will move slower (Rundus keeps his speed.) and they will slide on the ice. Rundus also has super powerful, Phazon Ice Shots, with replaces his normal B. These freeze anyone they hit. Phazon Shots: 15% damage, 100% freezing, medium knock back. Frozen people: 4% damage per second. The Final Smash lasts 20 seconds.

Please rate the moveset out of ten.

I love that Moveset (though fear it's a bit too powerful) - the freezing elements are incredible! However, 20 seconds for that FS - with those Phazon shots? Yikes! If it's a 1 v 1, the opponent will get ANNIHILATED!
Well done, very original - a nice change from the "RIDLEY/DARK SAMUS FOR BRAWL" threads.

He looks like Noxus's son, or something.

Either way, he IS cool (maybe on the level of Sylux...). I would know; I've seen a bit of MP3. But he falls into the Midna category; where he's almost too modern to be incorporated without cold-shouldering (pun intended) older characters who may deserve it more.

I saw that moveset on gamefaqs, and I commented on it :D.

I'd say 8/10. Its certainly easier for me to envision Metroid movesets.

Neutral B: Rundas shoots a beam of icy wind, which acts a good deal like the Ice Climber’s Down B, but with differences to the range of the attack. Like the Ics, if the opponent gets hit dead on by it, they have a chance to become frozen for a short bit. The move is different though in that its range is significantly longer, almost around three standard character lengths directly in front of Rundas. The attacks has no real knock back, due to its nature, but the player can of course get additional hits in while the opponent is frozen.

Side B: Rundas’s hand gets incased in a overly large sword comprised of ice, and Rundas steps forward, and makes a heavy swing. The attack has a very good range for a non projectile, and is very powerful, but takes a long start up time, while Rundas is forming the sword. Rundas’s attack of course can be interrupted before it completes, and if the sword is being made, it simply shatters around his hand. The length is slightly larger than a Falcon punch, with lower damage, but around the same knock back.

Up B: Rundas creates a “surf boar” (For lack of better word) of ice particles, and flies forward and up, to help his recovery. The range of the recovery is more horizontal than vertical, and the attack does no damage from the front so it is risky. The opponent can be damaged however by the shards of ice with pop at the back of his construct’s trail. By pressing B again, Rundas can automatically stop the attack, which if done in quick succession on the ground, can cause several ice shards to be flipped up. The move starts out fast, but then gets slower as the ice trail continues.

Down B: Rundas charges himself up with ice, and when done coats himself in ice armor. The ice armor itself will be destroyed after 7% worth of damage, but while it is on, Rundas will not flinch in any of his attacks. Thus, it can be used in conjunction with the lengthily Side B attack. The armor will remain on indefinitely if not damaged, and the blow that overloads the armor won’t phase Rundas either, unless it exceeds the limit by 15% or higher. The move takes a good deal of time to charge up though, and if hit before he’s done applying it, the armor will simply not form, so the player has to watch when they use it.

Final Smash: Rundas summons several ice spires from the ground on every platform in the stage. The spires are about as tall as Giga Bowser, and have a lot of knock back potential into the air. Even heavy characters will probably be KOed at around 50% if Rundas uses this. The move does have lag though, and basically consists of two parts after being triggered. The first one will form ice circles across the ground (they do no damage) and the second is the ice towers instantly jabbing up. If a character jumps over them, they will be fine, but if they roll or air dodge, it’s possible for them to get frozen. Rundas users should compensate for the lag by holding onto using the FS until in a good comboing position.

Yeah, too bad this guy gets owned in the game and dies. But anyway, Ridley, then Dark Samus, and then maybe a hunter, which would be Noxus or Weavel. No Rundas.

Also, already a thread.

The thing is that, due to Metroid´s (lack of) popularity in Japan, I highly doubt that Sakurai will include more than one newcomer from the franchise, Zero-Suit Samus aside. And that newcomer has to--and will be--Ridley.

GLACIUS! From Killer Instinct
Killer Instinct...good times. Glacius, TJ Combo, Spinal, Tusk. Good times. Back in the day Killer Instinct Gold was as epic to me as Smash is now.

As for this dude yeah I think he's too new.

well we need a character from the prime serie
No, no we don't. It's only really popular in America, it isn't as good as most of the classic Metroid games, and if it does get any nod at all, it'll probably through a Dark Samus alternate costume for Samus or a Meta Ridley alternate costume for Ridley. If, after hell freezes over, there is a Prime character in Brawl, then it'll be Dark Samus, but only after Ridley.

what about the other hunters? Ghor seems really cool and glanandraya could turn into several metroid characters as well.

Dark Samus is the only character from Metroid getting in Brawl besides Ridley. All other characters be it from the 2d games or from Prime are not worthy enough.

He is one of my favorite game charcters after through the first bit of prime 3. ( his boss battle was amazing! ) Your moveset is very cool ( even though the final smash is way to powerful.. maybe it would be better for less than 20 seconds.) He is awesome! check out my thread my thread on all of the MP3 hunters too

Waiting for you to slip up.
I'm guessing he is a Metroid Prime two char...

Anyway, Sylux has a better chance, since he is high up on Sakurai's list. Other selections for Weavel, Noxus, and the overrated Dark Samus, inevitable to become a clone.

I rather like the other hunters in Prime 3. I'd be pleased to see all three of them included in some fashion - though it'll most likely be as Assist Trophies.

By the way: Prime 3 is very, very awesome. Best game on Wii by far. The final boss battle might be my favorite in the series.

No, no we don't. It's only really popular in America, it *arguably isn't as good as most of the classic Metroid games...
*Fixed. Anyways, what games are you specifically referring to when you say classic? All the 2D ones: Metroid I, II, Super, Fusion, and Zero Mission? All the Super and beyond games? Mainly just Super? I'm curious.

Anyway, I feel that no Hunters should get in as playable, because none of them are that significant to the series as a whole. The DS game is a spinoff (of a spinoff?) anyway, and the Wii game is just one in a subseries of three. Nothing significantly sets any of the 6 DS hunters apart, and nothing significantly sets apart the 3 Wii hunters. They're more-or-less just disposable, undeveloped, replaceable characters.

Ridley is the most deserving second Metroid rep, over both Zamus and Dark Samus (Damus?). If the SSBB had another rep after Samus, Zamus, and Ridley, it would certainly be Damus, since they're really aren't any other characters that are both significant (no hunters or generic space pirates or generic GFeds) or suitable (yes, even though I've heard the resizing argument a thousand times, Kraid is just too big ;) ).

Also, Prime 3 was a pretty fun game. It's significantly more detached from the core Metroid gameplay than the previous Prime games (I'd give Gypsy a fit), but I won't fault it for that. It performs very well as an action game with a more segemented structure and focused story, and it does introduce a lot of cool new things and a few things from the 2D games (such as actual markers in the map indicating which rooms have hidden items, thank goodness). I still strongly prefer Prime 1 and Super over it, but I'll certainly play Prime 3 again some time.

^I'd prefer not to get into the Prime arguments anymore, as they only make everyone hate me. But, to answer your question, I prefer 1, 2, 3, and 4 (aka Zero Mission/original, Return of Samus, Super Metroid, and Fusion) over the Prime series. I just don't feel that they captured what the Metroid series was truly about. But I'm a hardcore Metroid fan that'd be upset over the smallest things, and I respect others for there opinions that Prime is a great series. So whatever.

Ghor > Rundus

Seriously...
He did more to thwart Samus' "save the galaxy" mission than anyone else. Dark Samus was a panzy fight. Rundus didn't do anything to stop you. And Galadrea(sp?) actually helped you on your misson. At least Ghor tried to disable the Aurora Unit...AND he tried to destroy your ship.

Chicks ain't the only ones that dig giant robots...

They need to find a way to bring all three of them back to life without ruining the story because Ghor was just to awesome to die for good.

You haven't completed Corruption, have you?

I'm probably gonna put my life on the line to say it, but one of the nine will be back at least. And its fairly obvious who...

Moving on, eh, I guess it depends on the amount of character slots dedicated to Metroid there will be in Brawl.

... no.
If it weren't for Rundas, Samus would have died early on.
Also I can't see any of the hunters getting in, because if any ONE of them got in, people would complain why is THAT hunter better than the rest?

Dark Samus sucks. Why does everyone want her in Brawl? I hate it when people want uncreative characters to be in the game. Like Bowser Jr.

Rundus was cool though. The hunters from the DS game were cooler though.

I completed it, 100% too. There is nothing that makes any of them significantly more important than another. And if you're referring to
the ship in the final scene, it may or may not be Sylux's. If it's not, then all the hunters are still on equal footing. If it is his ship, it still doesn't matter. It hints that Sylux will return in the next game. For all we know, the other DS hunters will return too. Why did Retro choose to show Sylux's ship, then? IIRC, Sylux's ship was the only one shown in Hunters, so Retro hardly had a choice. It really doesn't make Sylux significantly more important than any other hunter.

C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!

Yes! Glacius is my main in KI and KI Gold. When are we gonna get KI3 anyway - Oh that's right... Micro$oft owns RARE and all it properties now... Guess we can kiss that franchise goodbye, seeing how M$ has pretty much reduced RARE to Viva Piniata...

Back on topic, I think that I'd prefer an MP:H hunter (*cough*weavel*cough*) over any MP3 hunters... But Ridley still comes first!

He saved Samus before he was corrupted. You know, back when he was a good guy...

He did nothing to stop Samus after he was corrupted other than be a boss.

Ghor damaged the Aruora Unit so it couldn't communicate with Skytown AND he nearly destroys Samus' ship.

I can see Sylux fitting the hunter bill more than rundas, why?
because sylux aint dead, rundas is

dont get me wrong I loved facing the guy, and was my favorite of the 3 new ones showned in MP3, buts its highly unlikely...

Rildey- Should be the 1st added as new metroid rep, he has been with the series for far too long and is samus main arch nemesis
dark samus: not as important as ridley, but shows power and is the main enemy in the prime series, a rep for the new saga would be sweet, and no he wouldnt be a clone, play MP3-MP2 to find out why
Sykux: its obvious this guys is gonna have a role in future metroid games, possibly dread, why?
at 100% in MP3 u see his ship following samus's
this guy pwns and will continue to...

Problem with Sylux is, what makes him better than the other 5 hunters from his respective game?
The ship just RESEMBLES his. I'm not saying it isn't the Delano 7 though. Plus if he does appear in a future game, there's the problem right there. A FUTURE game. One that probably won't be out until after Brawl.

Checking every character for weaknesses, for &quot
I think phazon metroid should get in
med atk
low speed
med recovery
slow combo

>b phaze
b eletricity
\/b switch to hopper or hatcher metroid
/\b float up w/lightning on head for short time

grab
\/ gives damage, knocks enemies on ground
/\head butt up
>rolls and throws

I still have to work on hopper and hatcher metroid's movesets

taunt=floats rapidly and say something menacing or scary
FS=transforms into metoid prime if in hopper or hatcher metroid phazon metroid sends an army of phazon metroids to grab + shoot eletricity

Ghor and Rundas are the only hunters from prime 3 that could be characters because all galandradya does is morph maybe she does more but from how far I've gotten all she does is morph. While rundas is very cool no pun intended ghor is in my opinion a better choice cuz he can combine himself with big machines making for a really nice moveset that would completely pwn. To me though Ridley and dark smaus are higher priority and I would'nt know about the ds hunters cuz I don't have it.
