Hey guys, i am a long time luigi mainer who finally got a camera to post some videos online. Since my internet is really laggy only one video made it through to getting uploading to youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ryx2pig1FNk

Tell me what you think of the match, good and/or bad. I know the quality it subpar but i am looking into getting a capture card and then reuploading the vids.

I'll be sure to return the favour ;)

First off, way too much rolling. Too much rolling = bad = punishment. More Shorthops plz. Empty shorthops and shorthop fireballs work wonders as well. Don't use the rising tornado for the crazy vertical height ONLY as a last resort. A Tornado approach is needed as well espically in stage like FD. @ 1:05 don't ever use a aerial fire jump punch unless you know you'll hit but it's better if you hit grounded so that it'll be more accurate. Don't use too much Dsmash. It'll be move decay'ed and best to save it for a kill or rolling punishment. @ 1:35 you could have connected some combos when you did a Dair to Nair to upair but instead of upair, you firepunched and didn't ko him. Firejump punchs are best after 60% or so.

@ 1:58, nice rising tornado offstage gimp. Don't use green missle onstage, best used offstage as a recovery. Epic ending though lol. I thought he had you with the spike lol.

Not to be harsh, but I think that Mario had more skill then you lol. But that's just me, he had some good fireball approachs, jab cancelling to smashs and stuffs =3

Overall i think the match was ok like a 50-50 both of you have some decent potential.

2 things...

Try mixing up your approaches. Almost every time you were in OKI, you ran up for an areal approach. Try some fireballs or tornadoes (preferably both) :)

up tilt your fsmashes. They come out faster, do more damage, have better knockback, and return faster. Just a good habit to get in to.

i see what you guys mean now that i look back at it.

Hippiedude92: I'll try not to roll so much, i realize i can be punished really bad for that. I really do try the super jump punch when i think i can land it, but you are right t say i should be more conservative about it.

I don't take offensive to you saying the mario is better, i know my friend is better than me at brawl xD.

Faithkeeper: thanks for the tip on the uptilted fsmash. I have been trying to flesh out my fireball game (getting tips from the mario i was playing against in the process). i'll try to mix up my approaches in the future because i do see that i can be kinda predictable.

Thanks to both of you guys, i'll keep your advice in mind and i'll post some new vids later on my progress.

:)

Another thing. If your bad a utilt-ing try turning off the tap jump in the control settings, that way you'll be able to up tilt your fsmashs, upairs and up tilts. I had to watch ending like 5 times. lol epic.

Yeah i turned tap jump off since i started brawl, lol.

I have already started to incorporate a more varied luigi game based on your advice guys.

Its a little awkward because it takes time for me to get used to (including the uptilted fsmashes).

Don't worry. Don't expect mastering Luigi in like couple minutes. I've incorporated some of melee stuff to brawl with Luigi so it didn't take long. But then again, everyone learns and catchs on at different times. Trust me, unlocking Luigi's full potential is deadly lol..
