Im talking about the 3-frame cancel, not shine -> jump -> WD down

ok so i have the timing down to cancel a shine with a jump, can do like 2/3 in a row
You can cancel a jump with an usmash or grab... so in theory... you can jc a shine into an usmash/grab with no chance of the opponent avoiding it, so long as they have been shined?

If not what characters can i not JC a shine into grab/usmash?

It depends on how much momentum Fox and the opponent have if you're trying to combo the shine directly into grab. This will only work on characters that dont fall from shine too, unless you like, shine them off the ledge and they jump into your grab or tech or something. Anyways, the shine JC grab can be useful after a late aerial on one's shield, the shine gives them hit stun right before you grab, and if they try to grab and get shined you can probably tech chase them. As for the shine up smash, on characters that fall from shine, your best bet would be to hit with the top of the shine, otherwise they will probably fall on the ground in front of you. On characters that slide from shine you can do it out of a dash or walk on some characters. You can also effectively JC and throw an item directly out of shine. Keep in mind, just because these are possible and have potential for success doesn't mean they are all that great in relation to practical ways of getting grabs or up smashes, ie waveshine

EDIT: Next time use the Fox Advice/Question Topic for questions
