A general question about advantageous positioning on battlefield

As the title says, I'm just curious. I am actually not the biggest fan of battlefield. I constantly hear it's a great stage for marth, but for me, those platforms annoy the hell out of me. I constantly find myself ontop of them and getting destroyed from below from a character like G&W who uses his uair to keep me from dropping below.

So the question is...
Is it better to stay below the platforms? This could even be a generic stage question. It seems to me there is practically no reason to stay above platforms...You can't attack below other than your laggy dair and possibly a counter. And if someone is good, it seems like they'll just juggle you and not let you come down =\...

So thoughts?

Battlefield is Overrated

Um... the reason Battlefield is considered a good stage for Marth is because Marth does well when he is BELOW the platforms. He controls them fairly well. The only problem with this stage is that Marth gets ***** when he is on top of a platform since he has practically no good options.

In fact, battlefield seems to favor many characters rather than just Marth (It favors some characters more than Marth). People were under the impression that Battlefield is like the next Yoshi Story from Melee for Marth. That's a yes and no. In Melee, Marth had more range and controlled the platforms much more effectively. Marth's range is smaller now and even if he can control platforms to a certain extent, it's not nearly as effective as it was for him in Melee on Yoshi Story.

Bottom line, Battlefield is a good stage for Marth (as it is for many characters). It just doesn't give him much of an advantage over other characters like most people think.

Ultimately, there are better stages out there for Marth IMO.

just stay underneathe the platforms and you'll be fine. But honestly, choose other neutral stages like FD, smashville, ones that can give Marth *control* with the stage.
