Da-D-Mon-109
Smash Lord
Hey everyone, it's Da-D-Mon-109 again. I've looked through the Light House a few times, and I've seen a lot of different game discussions... But there is one game type that I don't think I've ever heard properly discussed.
I'm sure everyone has seen them several times in their lives. You see them in Restaraunts. You see them at the movies. You see them at carnivals. It is hard to not find them. Those oversized monoliths with the glowing screens, the large black frames, and the quaint little holsters for the plastic guns.
You hear people that have grunted and groaned from being assaulted by whatever vile abomination awaits within the realm of the machine, be it Dinosaurs, Aliens, Zombies or Terrorists. You waltz over, filled with interest. You pull out a few old coins from the change of your hamburger or popcorn, and pop them into the glowing orange slot of the machine, amazed at how simple they seem to fall into place. The sound-effect as the machine registers your payment only intensifies your desire. You reach forward and grab the weapon, aim it about half way up the screen, and hit the start button while you mentally prepare yourself for the struggle ahead.
Suddenly, you find yourself fighting for your life against vile and evil beings that attack you with no sympathy. You rush to empty out your gun clip on each opponent, desperate to buy yourself a few extra seconds to live, only to hear and see the infamous "RELOAD!". You're flinging your gun all around you, desperate to refill your cartrage and rearm yourself against the horrible monsters assaulting you. As your bullets fly through their bodies, the gore splattering against the ground, the blooded bodies falling and disappearing into the discusting goup, the groans of pain coming from your defeated adversaries ringing in your ears, you can feel the heart beat of creation, and you realise that it is one with your own.
Aren't Rail-Shooters awesome? I personally think so. But no one seems to have talked about them much. Maybe, assuming there is no problem with it, this gets to be the general thread for those amazing video games? The House of the Dead Series, Jurrasic Park, Time Crisis... you people have had to have played them!
