I am about to go to my first real tournament for SSBM, and it is a fairly big one, INNsomnia. And I have a lot of questions, so this is a thread for all you people that feel helpful to the more nubly of smashboards.

Anyways, a few questions...

Should I have 2 mains, because I feel that my falco is good, but if someone there is really good, for some reason or another, against my falco, I feel I would need another character to help protect me from an embarrassing loss (2-0'd) So, should I have two mains, I was thinking falco (for sure) and maybe Peach, I really like peach.

Why is rainbow cruise on the nuetrel level list??

And lastly, what should I do when I get there, just sign in, will I get my seed no.
If you could just tell me what goes on in a tournament, like what I should do.. If I wanna start a friendly, do I just walk up to some guy like, Hey, wanna warm up?

Anyway, thanks for your help in advance, and if you are on the new side like me, ask a question to the nice people of smashboards (+12 ***kissing points)

Yes, always be able to play with at least two characters. Peach sounds good

falco can't handle peach well, so yes, pick up some more chars

and rainbow cruise is a counterpick in singles and a neutral stage in doubles (assuming you're going to something with MLG rules)

A simple search of "Rainbow cruise" would find the answer.

Varies from Tournament to tournament.
