Smash Ace
ohh yay, another one. I'll justt express my opinion on poular, controversial characters. My lack of pics means nothing
Bowser Jr.(Baby Bowser): well... recently he's gotten plenty of attentoin, including many fights which inevitably end in "We're sorry Mario, your princess is in another castle." Honestly he's a small Bowser who dressed up like Mario to ruin his name, in his neverending quest for "Momma Peach". A transformation into Shadow Mario might be a bit iffy, since Shadow Mario is Mario, with a paintbrush. In fact, the only way I approve BJ is with a paintbrush moveset, with no transformation.
Overall Chance: 8/10 (with paintbrush moveset)
Ridley: I'll try to refrain from saying he's too big. OK, now, I'll be major flamed for this... I really didn't play the MP series all that much. What i can infer is that all they've done is make Ridley bigger. A screenshot from MP3 show Samus smaller than Ridley's head. All Ridley people have to go off of is his 2 seconds in the Melee intro thing, and the fact "Well, he can crounch, he isn't that big with his wings folded. I ask, will it really be as fun to play a purple dragon you like because he's large and ultra-powerful. Bowser worked because he ges from Mario's size, to many times bigger, to a little bigger than mario. Bowser varies in size, Ridley maintains his size, basically, he's always much bigger than Samus. Samus's head about reaches the platforms in Battlefield right? I edited out much of this, giving a good reason why Ridley will/will not be in Brawl. Due to the Fanboy extremism I encountered ensuing this post, it has been deleted.
Overall chance: 8/10 (it's been brought to my attention you fight Ridley at norfair, and his music, gives him a couple points, but You can ignore that he can be a boss.)
Geno: finally. I'm sick and tired of Geno. A supporting Character in ONE GAME. I won't even mention his 15 seconds of fame with a cameo. I just did, oops. anyway, As far as I know, Lucas was the star of his game (Mother 3?) right? Mario is the Star of his game, IC are the star of their game, Luigi has his own game, DK, Diddy, Peach, Yoshi, Wrio, Metaknight has appeared in enough Kirby games, and is playable a few times, Kirby of course, the Pokemon are basically the stars of Pokemon. The list goes on, then we arrive at Geno.
Let's see,
*Sidekick
*one game
*not quite the star, despite literally being a star.
I just don't think, logically, he has a good chance, but the polls want him in so....
Overall chance: 7/10 (ok i'll give him a point, since, I concede, the story revolves around Geno. However, his lack of multiple games, and the fact that he only supports, despite being one of the mains.) PS: Lack of multiple games, you say IC? They're waaaaaaay more retro than Geno could wish to be.
Captain Olimar: While I'm not really a Pikmin fan I'll keep this short. Olimar is incredibly unique, which is good. Has amazing Moveset potential, good. And is the star of his own game good. Those first two reasons, what about Geno? I concede he has some Moveset potential, but really, he shoots lazers and has a gun right?
Overall chance: 8/10
Last one is...
Megaman
yes it's Megaman. honestly I don't see much in him. he can't shoot upwards, he uses one weapon throughout all his games, but heres the breakdown.
*sorta unique, relies on an arm-mounted cannon, where have we seen this?
*one weapon, Samus has missles, Megaman is Kirby-like, in the sense that he copies his opponents gun, but he doesn't have a move to absorb people to take their "gun", kirby has that already.
* lacks physical moves, without being a Samus clone
Overall chance: 7.5/10 (OK, somebody informed me it's his 20th year, which helps, as if being 20 is any different than being 19. but hyping his 20th year like everybody does, why not let people Smash him to pieces in a high-chance of sucess game)
I know I'll be flamed for All of these, but go ahead, this is all IMO. I'm not a fanboy of any of these chars,
