I've been playing with AT's for over 2 years now, but I still have problems with waveshining across the stage >_> after 2 or 3 waveshines, I can't push the stick anymore and it returns to its neutral position... i can't explain lol. If anyone understands, what am I doing wrong?

Either your controller is faulty, or your fingers are just tired. I'm betting on the latter. I noticed that when I used to practice SHDL, my right thumb was worn from sliding between Y and B. It burned. :(

I've been playing with ATs for about a year now. My skills are finally (somewhat) second nature. Too bad I don't have any opponents. I can waveshine across the stage just fine. It's just waveshining backwards and waveshining in battle. I'm not amazingly consistent, but I'm noticing major improvement. Mainly though, I have trouble waveshining backwards (especially consistently). Well, that's my smash story. XP

It's just muscle memory and muscle endurance. I noticed yesterday that when I tried to wallshine my sister's Sheik, I would screw up after 2 shines. T-T After you play for a while, your hands are bound to be tired. Maybe your hands just get tired quickly? Well, the best advice I can give you is practice. Practice by yourself to get a better handle of the rhythm. Practice against a foe to learn to pull it out on the fly.

EVERY fox goes through this.

suggestions: after the first couple waveshines just super focus on your hand positioning.

like someone else said youc ould try resetting position instead of the lazy holding it diagnol and eventually slipping.

or you can just grip it extra hard into one spot.

lol thanks everyone. the weird thing is, I don't have this problem when I waveshine on air, but I do on an opponent >_>. And the resetting position seems really hard to do, haven't tested yet

Try to slow is down a bit, see if tht helps. Then, practice going slow and gradually progress until you can go fast.

The timing is different when you're waveshining an opponent. The hitstun frames of when your shine hits your opponent makes the entire process a bit slower.

Does that include when you accidentally turn around in the shine? I just want to make sure.

Yes. Everything in this game takes frames to animate each input. Shine is 1 frame. jumping out can only be done after frame 3 (something close to that). When attacks hit an opponent/object, the hit frames are delayed
