Why should the Mushroom Kingdom be the only classic level implemented? I had an idea, and thought about posting this in the official stage discussion, but these aren't confirmed stages, and it could heat up some good discussion. Please offer your feedback and suggestions.

First off, we've discussed a Tetris level in the past, but I also thought about some Donkey Kong classic levels that could be GREAT battle arenas:

A little awkward, but could also be interesting. The Game and Watch level was awful in my opinion in Melee, but this could actually be a very challenging level, and it's huge! Star KO's would be rather difficult from the platforms going up, but I think the battle could start at the top (where Cranky and Pauline would be.) Cranky would toss barrels as usual, and hammers could also be a standard item for the stage. KO'ing off to the side would probably be the norm for this stage. The music would be (of course), the classic Donkey Kong song.

This is roomier and more suitable for a real battle (aside from the roof where classic Mario stands.) There are many platforms here, small and large for battle, probably my top pick for a fight out of what I have included here.

I've never actually played this particular game, but it's a very standard level with nothing particularly special about it (the classic essence would be the redeeming factor.) If anyone has played this game, please share what actually goes on with Donkey Kong and Stanley and how it would benefit or cause havoc for fighters.

These were my main ideas. Please share other classic levels that could be implemented in Brawl with your descriptions.

shouldn't this go under stage discussion? anyway the donkey kong stage would definetly fit in seeing that it was the first stage that mario made his appearance

I thought about stage discussion, but it's a topic that I think could arise heated discussion (hopefully), and it's not official or anything. I took my chances and greated my own.

For the Stanely stage D.k. would shake those bee hives and bees would come out to attack Stanely. Stanley then killed them with bug spray. That's pretty much the game.

That makes for a great stage hazard. With the absence of Stanley, the bees could attack the players every so often.

I never really liked Luigi's stage in melee because of the way it was set up and because simply there wasn't enough room, but yeah I would hope that the original Donkey Kong stage or a stage from Super Mario Bros. 3 would take it's place instead

I had a similar idea for a Donkey Kong level. It probably would be better if they shrunk it down a bit, though. I'm not sure if it would be better classic style and pixelated or modern style and realistic, though. I think it would be neat if you could see the whole building being constructed and everything.

*thinks back to tetris stage idea.*

anyway, i think it would be very interesting to see a a donkey stage in brawl, would use some work though, because like you said, it would be awkward, may be like an ice climbers stage in a way.

that definetly would be a good stage but I think it's hardly worthy of one in Brawl, unless they added some tweaks like pow blocks or those blocks from Super mario bros. 3 that fall as soon as you walk under them

Dude you're forgetting a stage in the Donkey Kong game, there were 4 levels in the game when it was in the Arcade, but then when it went onto the NES it only had 3 stages, maybe they would use the one that they didn't have enough room for on the NES game but fit perfectly on the Arcade on

There have been countless Tetris titles on Nintendo systems, burrito.
Yeah, but I'm not sure if Tetris is owned by nintendo, though. Plus I think a Dr. Mario stage would be more nintendo-y. I think it would probably even work better as a stage because before the pills come out, there are at least some viruses to stand on.

DK stage could be interesting, as layers of platforms would introduce a different set of tactics than we've seen so far.

A tetris/doc-mario stage would need slow falling blocks that could be used for teching and wall-jumping, which would open up some really cool stunts.

BTW, cool animation, DH_Ninja.

I think a balloon fighter stage would fit pretty well. It might be kind of plain, though.

A punchout stage would be neat too, if they could get that to work. Hopefully, to go with Little Mac as a playable character.

A lot of settings from old NES games can be good SSBB stages:

Fire emblem 2: Gaiden

Super Contra:

Noah's Arc:

Bubble Bobble 2:

Ballon Fight:

teenage mutant ninja turtles 2:

Castlevania:

Monster Party:

the balloon fight and dk levels sound perfect

however i would like any dr. mario or tetris levels to be open rather than in an enclosed space, such as mr. game and watchs level, one of the least well thought out stages

I think it would be interesting to have a level with walls and platforms so the only ways to kill were vertical.
That would favor some characters a LOT, though. Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, and pretty much everyone who has a sweet up smash would own in the level, but Falco, Samus, Ness, and everyone whose strengths are in KOing off the side (or bottom) would be screwed.
