3rd Party Characters? Why not 3rd Party Items?

Nintendo can't ignore 3rd Parties no more, thats why they include 3rd Party Characters in this next game. But it wouldn't be fair if they didn't get Items to go along, I mean, they'll be a Snake Stage, Snake Music, why not an Item?

OH NOW I UNDERSTAND MORE! Lets say Sonic, Snake, and Megaman made it in Brawl. Your saying if other devolopers, like items from a Banjo-Kazooi game (just an example.) That sounds cool, but too much work. They would probably have to make seporate icons for each one then.

That sounds really odd to me, why would Nintendo call other franchies/developers to use items when they don't have a character in a game or vice-versa

Lol, no no. I mean Nintendo Characters, but I think he also meant have 3rd Parties involved that isnt' big enough to give a character. Like lets say instead of having Nightmare from Soul Caliber in the game, since he wouldnt' fit, just ask for rights to use the Soul Caliber Sword as an Item.

BTW, I wish Banjo-Kazooie were still a Nintendo Franchise. I mean, they fit in so well...
But anyway, 3rd party ITEMS would be great. The Chalice from FF:CC could increase the power of your shield, per say.

You just brought something to my attention.What if they reveal 3rd party characters AFTER the games released? Its not really gonna matter because they're gonna have to show the copyright logos and such!

I think the reason is that I hardly ever play anything that isn't Nintendo. I personally don't own any consoles that aren't by Nintendo.

The reason there won't be 3rd party items is quite simple...
MONEY
It costs a lot of money to purchase the rights from a 3rd party developer to use any of their copyrighted or trademarked material. If Nintendo and Sakurai would go as far as to pay a 3rd party developer for the use of an item from one of their franchises,why not just go all the way and pay for the use of the franchise character. In fact, never mind... I do not even think it is possible to purchase the rights to use "half" a franchise. You either purchase the rights to use it, or you don't.
Besides... what's not to say that there aren't any Metal Gear Solid items in the game? I believe it's very possible that there will be MGS items present in Smash Brawl.

There will be MGS items in Brawl because Kojima isn't making Sakurai pay for putting Snake in, hell Kojima is probably paying Sakurai for the advertising he's getting for having Snake in. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a Metal Gear item, but other than Raiden's sword, I can't think of any.
It wouldn't be a bad idea though. I'd like for conker to come back to nintendo lol.

Not if they have multiple versions of the credits. They could have the credits that show the 'Sega' logo appear after you unlock Sonic for example. Also, remember just because the Sega logo is in the game doesn't mean that Sonic is, it could be another Sega franchise.

Just make it so you only see the logo after unlocking the character.

as much as i used to love Rare, Microsoft hardly got the good end of the deal, they havent made one hit since they left nintendo. the talent that made so many great games on the Nintendos of the past has since long gone b4 Microsoft bought them, and im pretty sure Nintendo realized this.

It would be nice to have items that relate to the third party characters that are going to be in the game. I doubt Conker's going to be in Brawl, though.

Well.. it would be shocking to discover that only 2 more Konami characters are in Brawl..
So maybe Konami might be the only 3rd party with characters in Brawl.

Sure.
Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Link, and Samus etc are 1st party because they are owned by Nintendo.
Sonic, Solid Snake, MegaMan etc are 3rd party because they are owned by other developers like Sega, Konami, and Capcom.
There is also 2nd party.. which are games produced by a developer not owned by Nintendo.. but instead that developer is making a game for them.. Eternal Darkness for the GC is a good example. Nintendo downs the righted to the characters, story, and music etc in that game.
Kirby first started off as a 2nd party game.

Here is how I see it.
We'll probably get 3 characters.
Each will come with 1-2 items.
Each with their own stage and 2 themes between them.

Just to point something out that is very VERY possible..
We know Solid Snake is in Brawl..
So why not other Konami items and stages etc.?
Example-
1.Snake is in Brawl and there is the Axe item/weapon and or Dracula's castle from Castlevania.. though no one from Castlevania is playable.
3.Megaman is in Brawl.. and there is a Resident Evil themed stage or a Viewtiful Joe item.
4.Sonic is in Brawl.. and there is a Nights themed stage and or item.

It's hinted that the proxy mine is from Goldeneye.. but it doesn't say it is.

hey sora might actually be in brawl, becuz well nintendo made a game for the snes called mario rpg: the legend of the seven stars or something like that. well that game was also produced by square enix and so is kingdom hearts so sora actually does have a chance. a very small one though.

Umm.....not only has Square Enix made plenty of other games for Nintendo besides Super Mario RPG....Sora has also appeared in a game for a Nintendo system already (Chain of Memories).

The only 3rd-party franchise I'd like to see in the game that doesn't involve characters would be Tetris.
Seriously, a Tetris stage would rock so much. It would be like a bottomless pit where you have to constantly climb from falling Tetris pieces.

Oh whatever bro! Sakurai is a multimillion aire for one, and number two, he can just dip into Nintendo's budget if absolutely necessary. Finally, Brawl is going to be a world wide phenomenon! It's going to be like the Titanic movie of gaming. I kid you not, revenue is not an issue here.

Irrelevant. I don't think for a second that Nintendo would go to the trouble of purchasing the right to use characters in Brawl. It's good advertising for the companies. They'd probably be asking for their characters to be put in. Also, you have to remember that the copyright laws in Japan are incredibly relaxed.
