Hi everyone was wondering do you think it is better to use the 3ds for competitive play than the gamecube remote the reason im asking this is because i personally like the 3ds as my main remote to play smash bros with

Welcome to Smashboards! The GameCube controller is widely seen as better than the 3DS because the C-stick allows for things that are otherwise impossible (like jumping forward while doing a back aerial) which the 3DS cannot do. In addition, the circle pad is not considered as accurate as other control methods.
