360 HMDI cable compatable with PS3?

The more obvious the answer to this question is, the more my lack of knowledge on this subject is apparent. My first instinct would be to say yes of course, but I have no idea if Microsoft can "block" its cable from being used with other things.

Yes. The cable is a standard HDMI cable; so you will not have any problems using it with the 360 or PS3.

Also, i would advise against buying any more branded HDMI cables. You can order cheap HDMI cables online less that 4 a piece.

This is good advice. There is no difference between (as far as I'm concerned) branded/official HDMI cables and non-official/third-party ones.

Saves you money. Does the same thing.

Thanks for the answer, saved myself a few bucks.

When my dad bought a new TV he bought the cheapest HDMI cable he could find, I think it was 3 dollars. He said there was virtually no difference between the $3 cable and the $50 cable.

Would it even be possible to do what I said I thought might be the problem? Like put a limiter in the cable to make it only compatible with the Xbox?

Well not so much of prohibit the Xbox cable from working in other things than preventing other things from working with the Xbox. Microsoft is kind of notorious for making you buy a whole bunch of **** that should be included and I wouldn't be surprised if they made you buy a separate $25 HDMI cable that only worked with the Xbox just to score some more cash.

I'm not sure if you can prevent other things from working with the 360 but Microsoft got cheap and stopped including the HDMI cables with the newer 360 models.

You have to pay for it now. I just checked Amazon.ca and it costs you $40 (plus tax) for the OFFICIAL Microsoft HDMI cable.

Thankfully their HDMI cables are not proprietary. (Unlike their HDDs)
