2v2 online is broken in SSBU

In solo battle it matches similar skill rating so the matches are at least close. But in 2v2 the matches are all bad. 95% of the games the enemy team is really "inexperienced" which ends up being boring for my friend and I and the enemy team. We often go our worst characters and try bad strategies on purpose to make the matches more even, but then that 5% of matches where the enemy team is actually decent comes into play and we get creamed for going two jigglypuffs (we both suck at jigglypuff). And when we rematch we cant swap to our good characters! Why is there no 2v2 skill rating? These matches are SOO bad and we arent even that good! Both of our No. 1 solo battle GSP is like 2.85 million, which doesnt seem high considering this games has tens of millions of players. I dont remember it being this bad in ssb4. Does anyone else hate this just as much as me?

You bring up a valid point, and it is not the only balance problem this game has. I would say anything but 1 on 1 are unbalanced in the sense that most characters are balanced with the dynamics of 1 in 1 battles, not 3 or 4. Cloud is horribly overpowered in 3 or 4, and so is Ike and Chrom. And if Mario Karts online lobby allows you to switch characters, why can not Smash? I fully agree it is bad.

I think it is. Which, I wish their were separate GSP scores for FFA, Teams, and 1v1.

There is no teams GSP though, which is the problem. I can't find any balanced matches. I don't think you understand how beginner 90% of the players I play against in 2v2 are. It could just be my area because I know the matchmaking tries to get people who are close for better connection, but either way these matches are just straight up bad. I had a match where my friend and I eliminated one enemy and got the other to 450% for fun, and we both had 3 stock left. He eventually jumped off the cliff.

Yeah, whenever my brother and I play co-op we usually dominate most teams. Very rarely do we come across some good teams. When we do, it’s fun.
