For the With Anyone mode? You'll have to hack to do that, so it's possible

You can definitely do it in with friends mode.

I have no idea about with anyone matches though.

yes you can 1v1 in basic but you cannot in teams obviously

to answer the op, no only 1 person from 1 console can play online, you need another wii
